I recently bought a used composter at a salvage store. It was in great condition except for the ventilation holes. They were obviously missing the original screen or mesh which would keep the contents from falling out when you rotated the drum, and keep out vermin looking for a free meal. I only needed two 4 circles of mesh to make the repair, and I wanted something sturdy and rust proof. This sheet of stainless mesh filled the bill. I cut out my 4 circles, used Liquid Nails to adhere them in place, and voila--a now fully usable composter. I didnt use nearly the whole sheet to make my repairs. Who knows what else Ill be able to create or fix with the remainder?

This 304SS wire mesh is good stuff to work with. Cut it with sheet metal shears, fasten it with 3/16 pop rivets. 5 openings/inch is a nice mesh size for strainers, as it doesnt hold moisture the way finer screens will. Ill probably buy this again.

Quality is cheap and the mesh holes didnt seem like the right size?

Intended use was for rodent proofing in the attic. I cut the sheet in 1/2 to make 2 equal pieces. The wires next to the cuts all fell off since they ARE WOVEN, not each welded. To save some of the pieces I used needle nose pliers to sharply bend the end wires upward 90 deg to save the rest of the weave. I should have just used galvanized hardware cloth (1/4) which is welded, less expensive and easily cut for use. This stainless steel pre-cut is nice for decorative use, and did come in 1 flat piece (not folded like others) and would be best used whole as is

Cut this mesh to fit my 3 high efficiency furnace vents. Works good so far.

Be careful, the edges are like a serrated knife edge and I cut my hand getting it out of the package.

I bought this to try and craft my own sifting screen for medium 18-40 walnut media. I am not sure what the mesh sizing in this description is referring to but theres zero possibility of walnut media in sizes 18-40 passing through it. So I now have a rather small rectangle of mesh thats virtually useless to me at an insane price compared to just buying a roll of aluminum mesh from the hardware store, which would do fine for most anything I might have wanted this for (unless you want a rodent barrier--must use steel for that, aluminum wont work).
