> 3 dayBought this to place between ISP modem and internal network managed switches/devices. Pretty much plug and play. Purchased the 1M BeyondTech SC/UPC to SC/UPC A/B fiber patch cable. A/B connects where A is in RX on both devices and B is in the TX on both devices. Plug in power, connect one RJ-45 to ISP Modem and one RJ-45 to internal managed switch. No change in ISP speeds. 16ms PING from San Antonio to Ft. Worth, 230mb/s download (200mb/s purchased) and 12mb/s upload (10mb/s purchased). No drop in throughput and truly plug-n-play simplicity. Did this as a test for my personal office will now do the same for the house. Also will look at getting fiber optic in length to run between main switch at the house and remote rooms that while WiFi works, hard-wired would be so much better.

> 3 dayI ordered six (two packs) of this unit and have so far used four pairs. One unit failed in about two months, another unit could not replace an existing 100 Mbps 10 year old media converter. The run distance was only 700 feet. Same unit successfully worked in a 3000 foot application. Two other units have been flawless at 600 feet and 5000 feet. Lower cost unit with not much warranty on poser supply. Lower powered laser probably to blame for one problem (bad splice) and cheap power supply for second problem.

> 3 dayI patched this converter between my ISPs cable modem/router and my home theaters Ethernet switch to break any electrically conductive path between them. This cheap insurance should give me the peace of mind that in the event the cable modem gets zapped, it wont take my rig down with it. It was plug and play right out of the box-quick and easy to hook up, and no software to install and configure. Some say doing this improves audio performance too. I dont see how, but the claim might be legit; since Ive done this, overall sound seems somewhat clearer.
