> 3 dayWell it worked for the first 30 minutes, had to open it to multiple times but it did its job. It does leave a TINY indentation, wish the impact was a bit harder and the indentation bigger. I used a 3/32 drill bit and I could bearly see the mark. I think it is better for wood and aluminum wouldnt recommend it for metal

> 3 dayThe price was great for two automatic center punches, but should have know that you get what you pay for. They came unassembled and assembly was easy enough. But the first time I used it it didn’t even leave a scratch on the 18 gauge sheet metal I was marking and the punch seized in the shaft and had to be disassembled to get it free.

> 3 dayI ordered 2 center punches that appeared the same on the Amazon website. This one was substantially cheaper, and now I know why. After testing both center punches on a sheet of plywood, this one stopped working after 3 punches. It lacks the spring power needed to make a dimple in relatively soft wood, so I am certain it would never leave any mark on hardwood or metals as it should. There are other options available, so I recommend choosing one of those over this one.
