Excellent caster wheels with sturdy locks. Packaging is minimal at best. Each wheel is loosely encased in a baggie. I ordered four so they were packed in a soft, lightweight, cardboard box. The box was then thrown into a plastic shipping bag. One of the caster wheels ended up with a bent mounting plate. Im not returning it as this is my second order, (1st got lost by USPS) and my project has been delayed enough. Ill buy longer bolts to deal with the bent plate but these things require better packaging from the manufacturer to survive shipping without product damage. If I have a need for more Id order more of these but allow for extra time if damage requires an exchange. The wheels themselves are great!

If you need a set of four 3-inch wheels where two lock and two dont, at a bargain price of $23.49 ($5.87 each), then these are for you. If you need the highest quality, will be rolling heavy loads on the casters over long distances, or just want the best, youll need to spend more and look elsewhere. Overall, these are good for infrequently moved items, but the metal is thin, the locks weak, and the wheel rubber looks like it wont last.

My old piano dollys casters no longer swivel or roll well. These wheels are a great replacement/upgrade. The swivels have top and bottom ball bearings which provides for a really nice swivel action. The wheels have two sealed bearings giving them a very smooth rolling action. My only issue was that the hole pattern didnt match up. I had plug the original holes with oak dowel pins. After recarpeting my dollys are way better than when they were new.

The construction is good, they roll well and locks take a bating so far.

As you can see from the pictures I decided to reduce to 3 inch wheels which greatly lowered my center of gravity making my cart more stable. The aged (30 years) wheels were starting to show great signs of wear and since 2 where stationary it limited its use. Now with all 4 having swivels changes its uses exponentially. These are nicely engineered casters and they swivel...oh so sweetly. I did however lubricate the bearings closest to mounting plate with WD-40 White Lithium Grease. These are the bearings that you cant visably see the ball bearings. Increase smoothness was apparent after lubricating. The other visable bearing seems well greased and left it alone. Do your research if youre replacing wheels and make sure the plate holes are precise. I saw many listed that even looked identical but the bolt hole patterns were all different. These casters work incredibly well, I cant see finding anything better.

The whole assembly from mount plate to bottom of wheel is almost 3. However standard caster wheels are measured by wheel diameter, so I assumed that the wheels would be 3 diameter, they are 1.5 diameter.
