3M 05733 Perfect It Ultrafine Polishing Pad, 8 inch

For a final seal, we use Meguiars Mirror Glaze 21 and this polishing pad. This pad uses a hook/loop (Velcro) attachment system. The combination of this ultrafine foam polishing pad with the Meguiars Mirror Glaze, leaves the finish of our car, mirror like. Very happy with this final polishing pad. After use, we thoroughly rinse the pad out when finished. The glaze is a pain to rinse out of the pad as the glaze doesnt want to rinse out of the pad. Thats not a knock on the pad or the glaze, just a comment that the glaze is stubborn about rinsing out of the pad. I let the pad air dry and when time to reuse the pad, I wet (dampen) the pad before applying fresh sealant to the pad. As long as the pad is well treated (thoroughly cleaned and rinsed of any finish scratching debris), this pad will provide you with long service. How long of service will depend on the individual as nobody wants scratches to develop in their finish due to not replacing their finishing pad. Just saying, our car has a thirteen year old, never been garaged finish so Im a bit more forgiving than one might be who has a hundred thousand dollar car thats showroom fresh. This is a beautiful product that does a killer job bringing out the final sealant finish on your paint. Agreed, a lot of effort goes into getting to this final step and I feel total comfortable recommending this product for a final finish pad.

Well-made, works great and seems like it will last a long time. I used it with 3M Perfect-It Ultra-fine machine polish on my PC random orbital after clay barring my car and the finish is like new.

I bought this along with 3M 06068 & 06085 and so far, no swirl marks on my black Escalade. Of course you need to wet sand it 3000 grit, use a basic sponge for 06085 and then this sponge for polishing with 06068 and make sure you do it in the shade and cool spot to avoid burn spots and also, make sure you mist the spot before you polish or rub, it better to have more lube than less..

Had to return this product because the size was incorrect. Looked, however, to be well-consructed and durable.

Quality 3M product.

Have used other brand but this was my first from 3M. So far I have only used it once but am pleased with the results it produced. Other brands seemed to wear out rather quickly so Im hoping that this will last at least several uses.
