On par with the guys down at the harbor; a few cents cheaper. These are wear items and seem to stand up to abuse pretty well. I have been grinding the rust off the old work trucks. I like the slight cant of the bristles so it’s not quite a cup and I’m not quite a wheel. Seems to make it a little more maneuverable in tight spaces with odd shapes.

I thought that I was purchasing flat wheels not cupped ones. All my fault!

These wire wheels are pretty hard to mess up. After just a few seconds in my 4 1/2 in it took the rust off an old piece of tube steel I had laying around, the old grease/dirt/rust buildup off an old 3/4 ton shock, and the paint off a 55 gal drum lid. I say that, however to be honest Im surprised I dont have any wires sticking out of me after looking at the wheel after the fact. A number of wires seem to of come loose and could be removed with minimal issue or force. They get the job done but I question the longevity.

Seem to be durable and long lasting with a little breakage to be expected and with a good amount of down pressure these clean pretty fast. I agree it is a given- always wear eye protection with any wire wheel especially considering that these are somewhat expendable, and it may be a while- but they will eventually be worn down to knubs. Fits my angle grinder and tightened on easily and they handle a lot of down pressure when using. Good- coarse grind- cleaners.

These wire wheels look good quality. Ill be using one later on and Ill update the review if it flies apart or anything like that. The one thing that is a little different about these is that the angle of the wire is less than the ones Ive been using. Im interested to see if that angle is good for getting into tighter spots.

Heavy duty wire wheel for heavy paint and rust removal. Instead of single wires which can fly off when brushing these heads have many twisted wires which holds them together and lets you really get after the rust. They screw onto the threaded shaft of the grinder. If your grinder has a guard around the wheel make sure it can accept a 4 1/2 wide attachment. These are rated up to 12,500 RPM but I cant imagine anyone needing to run them that fast. They clean surfaces pretty aggressively.

These have been instrumental in removing decades of caked on grime and paint from the 74 Beetle we are restoring. One thing we learned in using them was that when they start to un-knot themselves, they are still useful for light weld cleanup and surface clean-up, however they are not as effective at that point at rust removal and the like. Weve purchased a second set of these as we wore through our first set.

These are rust eating wheels if you can stand the flying wire. BE SURE TO WEAR EYE PROTECTION WITH THESE WHEELS. A full face shield is best.

These screw onto my Dewalt angle grinder perfectly and do a great job at removing rust and other materials from surfaces that I need to be cleaned up. The braided wires last longer and are stiffer than the wheels that do not have the braided wires. I will never go back to non-braided wire wheels again as these last longer and remove more surface material quicker. I also like to use these wheels on my welds to kind of clean up the spatter and some of the burn marks.
