I use these for my young boy rats and they love them. I’d often see 3 of them all piled up on one circle ledge. All together that weight is in the 600 gram area, so the ledges are quite sturdy. Unfortunately, the boys are getting bigger and they can’t all fit on one ledge anymore so they fight over who gets to sleep on the circle ledges (they prefer to ALL be one one ledge in a pile even though they had multiple ledges to choose from) so to keep them from fighting I had to take the ledges away for a little while. I gave the log ledges to my young girl rats (100-200 grams lighter than the boys) and they use them often for climbing. I may end up deep cleaning the circle ledges the boys had and give the to the girls. If you have boy rats, they may try to sleep on these but will likely outgrow them as mine did. (Though it was cute seeing them all try to sleep on the ledges when it was clear they had outgrown them). If you have girl rats these ledges are the perfect size for perching IMO. If it can fit 600g worth of young bucks all piled on it can surely fit a full grown doe (mine are still young, so this is an assumption). Note: because of my cage’s bars I had to add some extra washers to keep the ledges level. You may not have this problem depending on your cage.

My budgies love these platforms and hop all over them but completely ignore the wicker balls which is totally fine since all birds are different, the platforms fit just fine in the cage and Im satisfied with how sturdy they are. The only downfall is that wood is a bit tricky to clean properly because of how porous it is, please be careful about what soap you use as it could retain chemicals and potentially harm your birds.

My birds are jumpy and skittish, and this is the first thing I have introduced to their home that they both jumped right on and love! Plenty of room for both birds or to leave treat surprises on for them!

I opened the package and the split wood smelled like Cedar. The description said it was Fir wood, but I’m allergic to Cedar, and my hands started itching. Cedar can be toxic to Cockatiels, as is pressure treated wood. Who knows, maybe a Cedar tree was accidentally cut or put into the wood pile. I would love to trust this, but I love my birds more. The circle pieces smell like Poplar wood. The description says there is no chemicals, however also says it’s fumigated before leaving the shop. I’m just going to send it back. I’m not taking the chance on “fumigated” wood either. My information came from Pets.the nest.com Please consider before purchasing.

I really like the size and thickness of the wooden platforms. Very easy to install. My only complaint is that some of the bolts were rusted. Besides that ,the wood is heavy but not too heavy that it weighs down on the bolts. I definitely will order more for my other birds!

My parakeets love these perches. There great quality and easy to clean.

My budgies Cheech and Chong love their new perches. Easy to attach to cage. made of real wood, and are sturdy. I ended up removing bark from the branch perches because they started tearing it off and making a big mess. I know that is what they should do...but drove me crazy. They enjoy chewing on them, so they are happy and now so am I. Would definitely purchase again. Shipping was fast and no problems. Thank you.
