The box was sent in an envelope, so obviously it was smashed open and all the bottles were loose in there. I guess nothing really bad happened, because the bottles were all intact. Anyway, this stuff helps keep me focused for a while when Im dying of tiredness at my very early morning job. I think part of what drags me awake is the terrible, terrible taste. Honestly, its like burning vomit with a hint of a red after taste. Its very tart on top of that.

Ive tried a number of energy shots, and 5 hour energy is decent. You get an energy boost, but then a crash or tired feeling definitely comes later. The part that bugs me is how expensive 5 hour energy is. With the ingredients basically the same, you are paying almost double the other shots (paying for advertising?). No pill or amount of caffeine will get you to wake up. That being said, this is the quick fix without the sugar, that will help you stay productive and focused throughout the day.When you work 10 hour days on your feet, you need every boost you can get. People at work love these, and for the price its easy to see why. People will pay OVER 3 bucks each in store and youre getting 12 at under 1.50 each. The Vit. B 6 and 12 content is better than regular 5 HR drinks, niacin is a B vitamin that causes hot flashes or flushing, and the caffeine content is almost doubled compared to regular energy drinks, but it is really the Amino acids in this product that cross the blood-brain barrier and give you the energy people crave ( phenylalanine, taurine and tyrosine - all of which boost mental function). I am sure there are people out there for whom 5 Hour Energy doesnt work or causes unpleasant side-effects. But, fortunately, I am not one of those people. It works fantastically well for me! What I do is drink 1/2 a bottle of the Extra Strength variety. The reason I originally started doing that was because I first used 5 Hour Energy during a period where I needed to stay awake for 24+ hours and you are limited to 2 bottles per day (if you follow the warnings on the label). So I figured that rather than getting the normal strength and only lasting 10 hours, I could get the Extra Strength and stretch it out over 20 hours. That worked beautifully and on the rare occasions I have had to stay up 24+ hours since then, I have always turned to 5 Hour Energy. More frequently though, I use it to get me through a particularly slow afternoon at work where I am just dragging and unable to focus. Id say maybe once every two weeks or so, when Im feeling the afternoon blahs, I will drink half a bottle of the Extra Strength and then I have no trouble making it through the rest of the day. I love how quickly it kicks in too. Id say within 10 minutes or so I am feeling like a whole new person.

I have used this product for years and agree with most of the reviews. There is something that I did not notice anyone mentioning and I feel it is VERY IMPORTANT. I have found that at times I will fall asleep suddenly and unpredictably if I am really tired. The 5HE will support you but when your exhaustion goes beyond a certain point then your body can shut down and you will wake up not even realizing you fell asleep. Good product, but watch it.
