> 3 dayI purchased this monitor back in 2019. For the first 6 months, it worked flawlessly. The screen is sharp, bright, and the colors look good. 144hz is a very noticeable improvement over 60 or 75hz for gaming. After 6 months, the screen randomly started flashing horizontal bars up and down the screen, which made the monitor useless. Customer Service: I chatted with customer service a total of 3 times. I tried all of the troubleshooting methods they told me to do, as well as everything I could think of. Nothing solved the problem. They said ship it to their repair center, so I did and I paid the $50 postage. After stress testing it, the problem did not show up on their systems, and sent it back. The problem still persisted for me. The second time I contacted them, they wanted me to ship it to them again and this time they paid for shipping. Again, they did nothing, said they could not find a problem, and shipped it back. I updated windows and all of my drivers, and it still does not work. I spent hours on the phone walking through my problem and I sent photos as well. Finally, I was adamant that I needed a replacement because other monitors work fine on my PC, so its not my GPU. And it is still under warranty. They said they could not do anything for me. Bottom Line: Acer has lost me as a customer forever, as well as all of my friends and family, because they could not send me a working product when I had a defective one and it was still under warranty.

> 3 dayGreat monitor for price. Has 4K for consoles and videos and 2k and 1080p with high refresh rates for pc gaming. Stand is a bit weak and I got a blue one which doesn’t match the desk I ordered but it’s whatever since I’m probably going to replace it with a better stand. Will update this review if anything changes after a month or two

Greater than one weekThe Acer VG271U is a wonderful monitor for the price, it has all the guts you need to do so elegantly. The contrast is fantastic and the brightness is good as well! The stand that comes with the monitor however is really not worth its own time and I reccomend buying a VESA mount that can hold its own against wobble. I would definayely purchase this product again if my desk had more room to handle it.

> 3 dayPurchased two of these, one for myself and one for my son. First note, both arrived but had a blue color stand instead of red as pictured. This wasnt an issue for us but may be a concern for others who are color coordinating their rigs. Interestingly there wasnt even an option to select a color, so at first I thought it might be the wrong item but the model # matched up and it is sold in blue at other websites. Of note, the stand itself is very basic, it offers no height adjustment only tilt, but works well enough at that. The speakers are nothing special, they have a slightly tinny sound but get the job done if you need basic audio support. We mostly use headphones around here. I have mine side by side with a 27 1080p monitor that is TN and this IPS monitor is so much nicer for colors than the other one. Both are 144hz but this monitor is definitely nicer to look at. I was able to get 144hz refresh using either HDMI or Displayport. Neither monitor experiencing any flickering issues. Ill update my review if that develops over time as some have reported.

Greater than one weekJust got this monitor as part of an upgrade alongside the RX 5700xt graphics card. My old graphics card doesnt support HDMI 2.0, but I got the full resolution and refresh rate after switching to DisplayPort 1.4. Very nice display and a lot of options built in. The speakers are okay but I typically will just use my headset anyway. Didnt expect anything from the speakers and nobody really should. The picture quality is spot on and works well with AMD display setting software. I wish the monitor display was edge-to-edge but theres about a 3/4cm on the left, right, and top sides of the display. Tried changing some things up and its still like that. Looking at it in the light, I believe thats just how its designed. Overall great value!

> 3 dayIf youre in the market for a 1440p 144hz monitor, please look elsewhere. I wouldnt even buy thing thing if it dips below $200, and heres why: - Probably the worst backlight bleed Ive seen on a monitor. Id cringe everytime a dark scene came on screen. Its more than just normal backlight bleed that youd expect from a cheaper IPS panel. If you dont care about BLB, this might be fine, but I seriously considered returning this monitor on day one just for the BLB alone. Boy should I have listened to my gut... - Horrible colors out of the box. Need to switch to 10bit color mode to get a decent image quality. Only problem is this limits you to 120hz, NOT the 144hz as advertised. - Even though this is advertised as G-Sync compatible, my GPU did not recognize it at all and I could never get it to function properly. - When using a DisplayPort connection, I got constant red lines flickering on the monitor and an odd static sound coming from the port. At first this wasnt very noticable and only happened ever hour or so, but over the course of a month it got worse and worse, to the point of being a constant. Eventually this issue spread to the HDMI ports as well, which ended up sounding like a bomb was going off inside the monitor whenever I connected an HDMI cord. - Acer customer service and their repair center are useless. Said it would be a ~2 month turnaround for repair. So what am I supposed to do in the meantime while I need a monitor for work? I ended up returning this to Amazon and taking at $50 hit on the restocking fee, just so I wouldnt have to deal with Acer customer service and their repair center anymore. If you value your time and sanity, stay away from this thing. Only reason I gave this 2 stars is because when it worked, it was better than my 10 year old 1080p Dell.
