This product appears well made, and I like the voltage readout feature. However, the slightest movement results in an interruption of power. This was mentioned by another reviewer, but I assumed it was maybe the vault of his vehicle, so I ordered it anyway. Unless that reviewer also has a Ford Explorer, this is a problem with the product. Had to send it back.

Update: Do not reccomend! Not two months in and what we have discovered is it wont stay seated in power ports very well. Not my truck, car or boat. Its now relegated to a backseat port in my truck.

I use this in my camper to monitor battery condition. I just had to replace the deep cycle batteries from letting them get too low. This not only keeps a monitor on voltage, but I dont have to give up any USB charging slots. Only thing is that it was a little short, (before it flares out at the display end). One of the outlets that I use it in would not make contact. I had to do a little modification, and now all is well.

I bought this charging port so that I could add an additional USB port. Build: When I got this in the mail and opened it, I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality. It is heavy and feels much more solid than I expected. Charging: I haven’t noticed any difference in the speed of charging, however it charges both my GPS and phone at normal speed. Display: The power display is a nice little bonus on this! Good to know the output of your battery. Just know that if you are leaving both ports plugged in you won’t be able to see the display, but not a huge deal either way.

Bought this to monitor battery voltage due to parasitic draw - it tells me if I need to charge the battery before we have a low battery problem. It has read voltage continuously for a month or so, its readings match my chargers meter, and it draws only about 2 milliamps, so its fine by me.

Started return. Piece of junk. what a waste of time. At least full refund, still wasted my time, now I have to drop off at UPS

The plug looks great, the feel/fit/finish seems is excellent. I like the orange color which surprisingly closely matches the cognac interior of my Dodge Viper. However the voltage readout display shows a higher voltage than the car computer (via OBDII readout) reports. I also checked with two different generic plugs that also have voltage readouts from my other vehicles. All three reported lower voltage readouts than this unit did by about 5%. So if this is reading 12.1, its likely actually 11.7 or 11.6, give or take. Maybe I got a dud, but if not, be aware. I havent decided whether to toss this or keep this and mentally adjust the read out results in my head every time I use/check this vehicle, or to use one of the other brand ones I have which are more accurate (but dont match color-wise). First world problems, yeah?

This thing puts out a lot of juice. I didnt measure or test it, I just plugged it in and Ive had people comment on how fast their device charged in just a few minutes riding with me. It is by far the heaviest 12v adapter Ive used, which indicates that it is made from heavy-duty components. It seems to be 2-3x heavier than the weak charger it replaced. Id buy it again!

Works as advertised. One note that should be included some European cars have a larger diameter cigarette lighter and this wont work in those. In the USA West Marine Supply store have a compatible Power outlet that could replace the lighter socket if you dont want a cigarette lighter. West also has proper tinned wire & connectors which are far less likely to get oxidized that FLAPS* junk. * Friendly Neighborhood Auto Parts Store

This item is well built and solid! The display is nice and the charging ports come in very handy for those of us who have yet to upgrade to a newer vehicle.
