It isnt clear why this is called a 3 in 1 tool as it seems to have only two functions. It removes SOME of the old caulk and then smooths the new caulk. The fixed and non-replaceable cutting blade is rather wide so it does not get deep into the gap between tiles. In trying to get it to get more (enough) of the old caulk I applied too much pressure resulting in scaring the top of the tub. I had hoped the tool would allow one to remove all the caulk by digging deep into the tile gap. I had to resort to using a small screwdriver for that important function. The second function for the tool is to smooth the new caulk. This entails using a rubber foot which has 3, yes 3, different angles. My guess is that this is the 3 in 3 in 1. The smoothing tool works almost as well as a wet finger but saves you from the horror of having caulk on your finger. :-) I was not able to get the cute smooth tool to get a good curve in the corners so resorted to using my finger and finally just went back to finger everywhere which was faster and easier to control - for me anyway. This is a typical Chinese product with very little useful information about usage. The usage information is in the attached image. The construction of the tool is good. It would have been better if the cutting blade angle was more acute so the blae would go into the tile gaps.

I am taking the old caulk out around the bathtub and this is an excellent tool for that process. The only negative is that its difficult to use around the curved corners of the tub. My tub is an old 70 yr old cast iron tub. I used a putty knife to work the corners. I am so glad that I purchased this tool.

Its ok to remove caulking but it is not as wonderful/easy as they say on the product page. The triangle thing to smooth out caulking is good.

Title says it all. Its poorly made, and not effective. The plastic is too soft and the plastic scraper end bends easily, and will not return to a straight edge, rendering it useless in about 30 seconds of use. The stamped metal end that is supposed to be used to remove caulking, and the main reason I got this, is so terrible. Its not sharp where it needs to be to bite into the calm to do the job... However it is very sharp, as it is roughly sie cut, in spots it does not need to be. Its just an all around, piece of dooty, and its not worth more than about $1.

When I saw this tool on Amazon, I thought it would be ideal for my needs, as I was about to start a project in my kitchen that involved roughly 20 linear feet of caulk removal, and when the project was finished, recaulking the same places. Well, the caulk removing end is close to useless. No matter how I held it, it could only grab the existing caulk where the previous worker had put it on too thick, and then it would only scratch some of it off. I ended up using other tools to do that part of the job. If I could separately rate that end, it would be barely one star. A real bust. But when it came time to recaulk, the other end of the tool proved to be excellent. It’s a soft rubbery material that the caulk doesn’t stick to, its angles are about right to keep caulk from smearing on the adjoining surfaces—it works beautifully. I’ve never been a great “caulker”, and I’m still not, but this made it look almost professional. So that end is easily 5 stars. So I have to give the tool only 3 stars, averaging the barely one star of one end and the 5 stars of the other end. Buy the tool for properly spreading the caulk, but don’t expect the decaulking end to work at all.

Better than using your finger. Cleans up easy.

It requires a bit of effort & learning, but is overall easy to use well. I used this to clean out old caulk & apply new caulk for 3 bathrooms for a customer. When I finished, the customer said it looked like her bathroom with garden tub had been totally remodeled! The scrapers worked very well & cut down the work time by half or more. I tried all 3 sizes on the caulk smoother & settled on the biggest as I felt it left the appropriate amount of material.

This does SOOOO many things! Very flexible and accurate. If youre used to using your fingers caulking, this makes it easier and cleaner. Such a little tool with many applications.

Product works great for smoothing out caulk as well as removing it. Some videos in the reviews show people trying to remove caulk by keeping the tool parallel to the wall, however if you put the tool perpendicular to the wall the caulk comes out with very little effort. Would definitely recommend!

The previous caulk job on my shower was pretty awful. Not only was it failing, but it was also just done very poorly/messily to begin with. So before recaulking, I needed to remove the existing caulk. I knew this was going to be a nightmare. Except it wasnt. At all. I ordered this tool to help get the job done and it annihilated the existing caulk, not only cutting it from the wall but pulling it right out! The plastic scraper edge then made short work of removing any residual caulk on the tiles without leaving any damage. Amazing! Sure, you could struggle. Or you could just caulk over the existing caulk and risk poor adhesion. But this tool makes doing the job right a breeze! Id absolutely recommend this tool for anybody who needs to recaulk their bathroom! For a mere $6, its a no brainer!
