Amazon Basics External Hard Drive Portable Carrying Case

These are pretty neat little cases that fit my external hard drives perfectly. They seem durable and fairly well made. For the price, a great deal!

This is a perfect fit for the SD portable hard drive. Definitely will protect the hard drive from drops and water and also roomy enough to store the cable. Small and good looking.

I purchased this external hard drive to use as a back up for my laptop. It works great.

As a video editor and cinematography, I fill a ton of hard drives that I often find myself needing to lug around and send out to clients. I looked at several different products that essentially work to add a little more protection to external hard drives, and after several tries, I finally kept this one. I had little luck with the silicon “skins” for the drives, due mostly to inconsistencies in where the holes were punched out for cords and the big variety of sizes that hard drives now come in. I then purchased a product similar to this but with a smoother texture on eBay for $2 less than this Amazon basics case. The eBay cases began to fall apart and were just generally of a worse quality, But these Amazon basics cases have been excellent, from the material to the quality of the zipper! The texture feels more sturdy, but not bulky. The two different types of netting/compartments in the case make it super convenient to hold both a drive and the cord, while at the same time make the case able to hold a huge variety of hard drives shapes/thicknesses, as they stay in place and secure. I’ve used these now with WD passports, Seagate backup Plus drives, an SSD and a few other branded external hard drives. These aren’t made to be shockproof, underwater, pelican-case protection mechanisms, but for those days when I need to take my hard drives with me, or in storage with archived drives on a shelf, these work to supply an extra layer between your drive and the things it touches, it feels sturdy but lightweight, and it keeps dust, crumbs, and sharp objects from your frive’s fragile cable ports.

It is made ok and does the job for me

The hard shell outer case really helps protect our Western Digital Backup Drives. Internally there is a nice elastic band which holds the drive firmly in place. The netting on the opposing side allows for easy storage of cable/some information. Highly recommended.

Had one and lost it, so got a new.. Probably says everything. Basic and cheap. Has net for cables etc. on one side. Fits my WD external My Passport drive very well with a few other smaller things too such as a card reader, three usb-sticks and a usb cable. Used for a lot of travel (a lot, a lot). Protective shell is excellent. Will get used to look at if you are traveling intensely as I am. But no loss of functionality.

Bought it to go with the Seagate 1TB and it fits it perfectly. Not much you can really get out of a case other than what it is made for.
