Excellent quality tool. Replaced a core in literally 2 minutes with no hang up and virtually no refrigerant leakage. I Purchased this one to replace one of a different brand I have lost. A substantial improvement in quality and performance. You get what you pay for rings true here.

This is much easier to use than the Yellow Jacket tool because I can feel whats going on inside when I remove the valve core. In vacuum I havent had a problem with either one, using a T/C gauge. The tip does tend to grab the valve core and pull it through the body of the tool, although this can occasionally take a few tries. Also on the Yellow Jacket, the captive nut can come off.

Retired after 43 years in the trades a decided to learn about ac installation while installing a mini split heat pump on our recently enclosed back porch. I know the value of quality tools, and almost every YT video about these installs used the Appion core removal tool. Well worth the money, you won’t be sorry.

Best core tools I have ever owned. Easy to use. Buy 3. Use one on liquid valve, 1 on suction valve port and third on port of core tool to have a valve to close your micron gauge off with. DO NOT TRUST MINI BALL VALVES. ALL Yellow Jacket ball valves I own LEAK. Not these core tools. Ball valves work on charging hose ends to take pressure temp readings okay, but only use these core tools if you want good low micron pumps downs that hold around 250 microns.

I don’t know how I vac’d down systems before this, must have for all techs!

When looking for this tool for your HVAC trade, remember to always look to see if they are rated for Vacuum. This is really important. If they are not, you will not be able to pull a proper vacuum. These have always the go-to in this situation. Also if looking, NAVAC tools put out one rated for vacuum too.

the product might work for others, but I have used it and have too much trouble trying to get the valve core out. its useless to pull a vacuum with this tool.
