I do wish these filters had a little more carbon in them. When you pull one out of the package, you can see that there are empty sections where where water will get through without being filtered. They work well for catching leftover food, waste, and any chunks that contaminate the water. I would not trust this thing to filter my drinking water, but its meant for an entry-level type of aquarium, which is exactly what I have. Its great getting 12 filters for this price, and that allows me to change them pretty frequently. The filters are very easy to insert and remove using the tab on the side. I like to churn up the water and rocks before I change the cartridge, so that the food and waste on the bottom of the tank get sucked up by the filter onto the old cartridge before I take it out. I have the Minibow 1 Gallon Aquarium, which comes with their QuietFlow filter system. While the tank is very small, its a great starter set, especially for the price. In the future Im probably going to upgrade to a larger/fancier tank.

These are the exact same product that you will find in pet shops, so save yourself some money. You get two packs of 6 on Amazon and pay less than one pack in the pet stores. Im happy camper.

Love that it comes as a two pack! It certainly helps me plan better for my tank to know that Im good for a minute - or at least long enough to not be CONSTANTLY buying new filters. The filters work well, they fit with the filter that came with my tank and the pull tab is a solid feature for making it possible to actually pull out the old and slide in the new!

Bought these to use aftn initial one that came with the tank. These do NOT work at all. Tank water is ditry after 2 days of filter replacement.
