I have two 4Bs with 8GB. I bought the first one in a kit from another well-regarded vendor, but it wouldnt boot reliably, and then it stopped booting at all. I thought it was dead, so with heavy heart and light wallet I bought another. I swapped it into the kit and after many failures got it to boot, and then it ran for days. I bought two of these ArgonOne case/power supply packages and installed both 4Bs in them. They have booted every time and are fine. I believe the 8GB of RAM increases the inrush current beyond what the official Raspberry Pi 3 amp wall warts and the 5.1V 3.5A unit that came in my kit can provide. The Argon unit is 5.25V 3.5A, and it works every time. Now, about the case itself: It is well-designed, quite sturdy, gets the heat out, and has all the ports on the back, which is very tidy. From the front, there is a window in the base that reveals the red and green LEDs, so you can get some information about how the Pi is doing. I had put heat sinks on one of my Pis, so I had to remove them to let the case press down on the IC cases to draw the heat away. Theres also a fan. Cool! Having updated the bootloader on both boards, I dont use an SD card with either; they boot from SSDs (64-bit Ubuntu and 32-bit RasPi OS). They are both currently wired to my TESmart KVM switch (also from Amazon) along with my main computer, so all of them share my trackball, keyboard, and 4K monitor. I am a poorer but happy camper.

For fit and finish, this is a sleek, nice looking case. Everything fit like it was supposed to. The instructions are wriiten well, and from out-of box to usability took about 5 minutes. The software that you download to use the fan is nice in that you can set the fan speeds to automatic for when the Pi heats up ( 3 different levels) or you can set the fan to full speed while the Pi is on. Overall this is an awesome case, and I would buy again. My only complaint, and this is a very small complaint, is that when I viewed the product, the picture shows mini HDMI ports on the back of the case, and when I opened the box, it was full size HDMI ports. I have to buy new cables to use this case vs using the mini HDMI cable I used on the Pi with the Cana case that came with it. Not a deal breaker by any means, but just be aware that what I got was not what was advertised in the picture.

The case is great. However, it is very clear that there is no quality control performed on the board used to relocate the ports. I say this because the one I received had a huge gob of solder across all the pins of mini hdmi0 port and right next to the gob of solder was a quality inspection sticker. Even the most basic inspection would have caught this; so, the inspection sticker was almost humorous. Once I de-soldered the gob, the board worked fine. However, it made it very clear that the inspection process used on these boards is a joke.

The picture shows the first version with the micro hdmi connectors. It worked well and I wrote a small script to control the fan speed with the i2c commands that Argon publishes. Ordered 2 more cases, but got the V2 version where those commands no longer work. Customer support didnt respond for weeks and wasnt helpful when they finally did. Returned both and will resume the search for a case that worked as well as their first version did.

I bought this case because I thought it looked cool and was going to improve the Raspberry Pis performance. But I was wrong. It cut the Pis performance by a staggering 50-65%, depending on the workload. When I took it out of the case, it performed normally. Also, Ive contacted customer support multiple times, and they are extremely slow. Also, when they do respond, they are not helpful at all. The only good thing I can say about it is that it was fairly easy to install. PS: Im pretty sure mine is defective, but again, customer support wont respond to send me a new one.

This case is awesome. Its easy to install and its very versatile. It comes with a daughter board that reroutes all of the ports to the back of the case. It also comes with a fan with a script to control when it turns starts spinning (based ON CPU temp). The case itself acts as a heatsink so it gets warm (not burn your hand hot though). It looks great and its got LEDs that show you when its on and when data is being written. My case even had full Hdmi ports (not micro-hdmi). Theres also a dedicated power switch that allows you to soft reboot/power off with the help of another simple script. This case is perfect for retropie setups.

I purchased the Argon One M2 recently for a Raspberry Pi 4 8gb because it offers: a Great 2 Full-size DVI output Daughter Card, Active & Passive Fan Cooling, and the correct GPIO Pin Access in a removable cover. It also came with a High Output A/C Adapter all in a compact case. Upon inserting the Raspberry Pi 4 into the case- it became apparent the Argon One Daughter Card lined up perfectly with the Case Internal Metal Posts that support the card in the case... but the screws that secure the Daughter Card to the inside of the case- DO NOT LINE UP with the Molded Metal Brackets. The Raspberry Pi 4 is secured to the inside of the Argon One Case with Screws... these line up, but the Daughter Cards 4 screws only line up on one end. Countless emails to the company get me no where... the EU Version includes a M2 SSD Expansion... so the next time I purchase the Argon One Case, Ill purchase the EU Version. The USA Argon One M2 case works, but is not worthy of 5 Stars... Buyer Beware!

I bought one of the Kickstarter cases for Pi3, so this is my second. I like the Flirc cases, too. But for desktop use, the cord management, I/O accessibility and labeling (when needed or hidden when not), and integrated fan control and power switch is really appreciated. Theyre even fun to put together if you like that sort of thing. Only drawback is the need for a 5.25v power supply (at least on the early cases). Dont know if thats still true, but this came packaged with a quality power supply so its not an issue. (case and supply in same Argon-branded box, not a seller bundle.) One caveate: if you lose power, you have to push the button to restart your Pi. So maybe not best for an embedded application.

I was able to put an IR receiver on the board and set it up to recognize a wdtv live remote

30mm fan is so loud with its high pitch. Could have been perfect if not for the fan.
