Once the initial setup is done this baby runs like a dream. I know, its expensive, but well worth the money, at least to me. Connectors are solid and light placement are better than on the AX. Wireless channel settings are precise to the point of being almost magical. The unit is warm, but Id rather it use heatsinks instead of a fan (dust magnet).

I’ll start with the main problem which I found to be probably the only thing wrong but large enough to return and go with a different brand. The 2.4ghz doesn’t get over 150mbs down, when it should be getting 300-600mbs down with my fiber 1000/1000. The 5.0 only gets half the speeds that it should as well. Now I changed setting called addys tech and even sent a system log in and nothing they only told me they needed more logs. So maybe it’s a defective unit, so I order my second one thinking this has to be it. New router arrives same problem. I’m short DO NOT BUY THIS ROUTER. If you plan on getinng blazing fast wireless speeds. The 2.5 port is very fast and nice but the wireless is garbage.

Just received my unit. First thing I noticed is one of the eight antennas is improperly connected: rotating the antenna generates a clicking sound and feel and the antenna is not fully inserted to the unit like the other seven. I forcibly pushed the antenna connector into the unit but not sure if it is really connected. Ill run some perf test tomorrow and decide if I need to return it.

I bought this router for its traffic monitoring and QoS features. But when I received it today and set it up, I discovered that in order to enable those (and other) features, you must consent to third-party data collection.

It’s overkill (and expansive) for my personal usage but I particularly like the application to leverage the usb drive and reduce the ping for games. The wifi coverage is just amazing. The signal stay full bars everywhere in my cottage house and everywhere in the yard.

There is no better consumer router available. This contains some features you only find in enterprise equipment.

Great company, I this was an upgrade from my RoG 5300, i have only trusted and used Asus Routers for over 15 yrs. But this one seems to have been a bad batch, connecting was super simple. But the Wifi signal kept dropping, I live in a small house, but the signal strength was not there either. So, i returned it and bought the ASUS ROG Rapture GT6 (2PK).

Update: The product description on the ASUS web site is a bit deceptive. The 2.5gb port is WAN only. For example, if you have a 5gb Internet plan, you can use the 10gb LAN/WAN port to connect to your modem, but the 2.5gb port is not useable for LAN use. LAN aggregation is possible on the 1gb ports- but that may not be optimal.

I been waiting for a couple of months to find this router available as every retailer has been sold out. I was excited when I finally received it since I had very high expectations for it due to the features and price. At the moment, I am not sure if I should end up returning it or hope that future updates will resolve the wifi speed issues. The router is a roller coaster with wifi speeds as others have mentioned. It does not have a consistent speed. I could be standing a few feet from the router and will get over 600mbps but then a few seconds later under 100mpbs. I currently have Cox Gigablast. I ran wifi speed tests in other rooms in my home which are about 20 to 40 feet away from the router and had the same issue no matter what wifi setting I used and on multiple devices. For the amount of money that Asus is asking for, I have had better stable speeds with my TP-Link AC-5400. I would get between 400 to 480mbps around the house without the roller coaster speeds. At the moment, I would say its a risk paying the asking price on this router since we dont know if future updates will correct the wifi issues or if its a hardware issue.

I live in an older home so wifi has always been an issue but signal is great inside home but got extenders to get better signal out side
