I bought this laptop simply because it was the best value for any laptops with a 120hz monitor. I have only used it for coding and web browsing, and so far there have been no problems with performance (although this laptop should be more than capable for basic tasks).

Would not recommend. The highest volume is not even loud enough to hear halfway across my small room. Ive had nothing but issues with this laptop. My FPS sucks and its loud.

Great laptop at the price range before Covid, has gone up in price since. Unfortunately had to replace the SSD and one of the cooling fans within six months. SSD would corrupt boot partition every couple of months. The graphics fan starting making noises, even with frequent cleaning. Thankfully that is an easy fix and parts are inexpensive. All in all great laptop for school and even performs very well for gaming.

I never had a laptop that cost this much ($700) ... None the less, this is the best performing laptop I have ever had . I am not picky and looking to max out my settings in everything I do/play, so that being said, everything I run on this ASUS TUF FX505DT runs perfectly to my taste !

Update: Ive had this laptop for about a year and a half and it just bricked. I was in the middle of working on a document and with no warning it turned off and wont turn back on. It was not hot at the time. I took the back off and nothing is loose. Its possible it is the power cable, but I believe I would have noticed the battery going to zero so my next guess is that the board is dead. Naturally my warranty expired 4 months ago. In sum, I can no longer recommend this laptop.

This laptop is a steal! The new GTX 1650 is plenty of horsepower for mild to heavy 1080p gaming (depending on the title). The only set backs I have is the touch pad starts acting erratically and I would like to see a little bit more longevity from the battery. Regarding the touch pad I just deactivate and reactivate the touchpad with the hot key on the F10 key (which personally doesnt bother me that much specially since i use a gaming mouse with it). But for a nice compact mobile workstation/gaming laptop this thing is a BEAST! Other than the battery and the touch pad issue this thing would be a 5/5 stars. (side note yes the storage and RAM sizes are on the low side but if you have the courage to upgrade it yourself this laptop really has a lot of potential).
