Greater than one weekI really didnt like this game. It took too long and was too complicated. We are not gamers and just like to have a board game now and again. This game directions were not clear and all six of us thought it was not worth the effort, went back to ticket to ride and carcassone and catan

> 3 dayThis is one of the best games Ive ever bought. It is so much fun and can easily be learned by anyone. If you find yourself confused, Id recommend watching YouTube videos on it. But alas, I dont think you would have to. Every time my friends and I get together, they beg me to bring out this bad boy. It has easily become one of their favorite games as much as it is mine. If youre looking for a Clue mixed with Dungeons & Dragons, this is the game!

Greater than one weekwe had a bit of a challenge at first figuring how all the rules worked. however once we got it this is an awesome game. We decided to instill a few house roles because some of the haunts we played turned a bit lame because there wasnt enough pieces on the board.... over all a blast!

> 3 dayI recently got this as a birthday gift to add to my growing tabletop collection. Ill cover a lot of the questions I had about this and have seen asked here: FYI:: My friends and I have played this 10 times total in 3 different sittings. 1) For those who watch Tabletop with Will Wheaton and found 2 versions of this game, I will clarify. The expensive edition is a first edition which I believe, from the research Ive done, was what was played on his show. This 2nd edition is the same game! The only differences Ive seen are minor cosmetic changes and rewriting of the rules for better clarification and understanding. The game plays exactly as seen on that show. 2) Regarding the cosmetic changes, theres nothing drastic. The biggest problem that I have found is a mere annoyance regarding the clips that are placed on the character cards. Each card requires 4 small clips to be placed on each character card to indicate (show) the number of stats the character has. During gameplay, the stats rise and lower accordingly, so the clips need to be adjusted a lot. These clips are very loose and DO NOT like to stay where you put them. Im currently attempting to find thin plastic in order to cut and glue to the inside of the clips. Im hoping that this will allow for a better hold on the character cards and extend the clips reach to better indicate the number its on. 3) The character figures (figurines that represent each character) arent very pleasing to look at either. The painting on them makes every character look like tree bark. Im not saying dont buy this game because of badly painted figurines though. 4) I havent found any expansions of any kind. The game has extreme replay value due to the Haunt and the corresponding Survival and Traitor books. But, the room tiles that make up the house do get a bit repetitive after a series of play throughs. I would love to have more room tile variety. 5) If youre an experienced tabletoper or just wanting a 3-6 player game that you can play with friends every now and then, you will not be disappointed with Betrayal at House on the Hill 2nd Edition. I do recommend playing with 4 players minimum though. 6) The most important thing I can say though is to NOT play this in a wet environment. The majority of this game involves cardboard and cards that are very susceptible to water damage! So keep those beverages in check! Playing in a garage during a humid day/night can also do harm to the components. Hope this helps!

Greater than one weekI got this for a Christmas present two years ago. At first I thought it was boring and confusing, until my friends and I started playing it. WHAT A GAME!! This is unlike any other board game Ive played. Its literally never the same game twice. Ive had games last as short as 20 minutes and as long as 2 hours. I would highly recommend this game!

15-04-2025The cardboard that is used for this product was absolutely terrible. Ink is coming off, Pieces were bent while being forcefully shoved into the box. A large piece had a full half inch gap that was folded over just so the product would fit in the box, creating a bump - and bending every other piece in the box. There is absolutely no excuse for the kind of neglect that is shown here. Will not be buying or replacing.

> 3 dayI love this game, it is great once you get into it and figure out how to play. Make sure everyone reads the directions or watches a video on how to play before you start or it may be kind of slow. The only main issue I have with the game is the marker pieces they use on the player cards. They are not long enough so it is hard to tell which number you are on. They are also hard to move and they are rough on the player cards. I found some player card holders on Etsy that fix these issues, so I may end up buying those or you can always buy the upgrade pack Avalon sells.
