> 3 dayMy two-year old loves these Bao Bao books. We also have the first edition. He already knows all the words after a week. It is a great way to pick up some Chinese phrases , too, if you’re trying to learn or have your children learn!

> 3 dayThis is the second book to Peipeis first Music Book and we are so glad we purchased this book! The first book had great songs, but we found that having a second book at grandparents home helped to keep our daughters interest level in Chinese songs. (Plus, wouldnt you want to have your child see and learn from a variety of bilingual books?!). Having a mother (who is a native speaker) and a father (who is a 3rd generation American Chinese), this book has helped bridge the gap for the grandparents to learn Chinese tunes together with our daughter. Now that grandpa more interested in learning Chinese, the whole family is singing catchy songs during play time and our daughter is just in love. Its been so cool to see how the grandparents have become more involved in her language learning because of this book! I reviewed the first book (which I highly recommend!) with the three things I love about the book that also apply to this one. But I thought it would be good to include more details about why my family loves the second book. 1. A mix of English-translated songs and childhood songs If you grew up with Chinese speaking family, a few of these songs might take you back to your own childhood memories. I quickly became reminiscent of my own childhood days when my mom and grandma would sing these songs to me and now they can do the same to my daughter. I love that the author included songs that have lasted generations in my family. As a Chinese American, I also have the pin yin and English translations (and Peipeis voice) throughout that help me understand the songs story and how to pronounce it accurately. 2. If Youre Happy and You Know It in CHINESE? This was amazing. Ive been singing this song in English 10x a day with my daughter (because she loves all the movements), but with this book, grandparents and I can sing it in Chinese! (Actually, Peipeis doing a great job singing it, via book). I love that I can now mix it up with a different language so that my daughter can hear both versions from grandparents and myself. 3. Songs that promote family time I love that the songs have a mixture of being a happy kid and especially ones that emphasize the importance of family. I just love that it inspires us as a family to sit together and enjoy each others presence. Weve made these songs into circle time with family and play time before bed because she not only loves listening to Peipei sing, but also us sing and dance along to the tunes. Its been so cute to see! I could continue to go on about Peipeis work, but I am just so appreciative of how much time and effort shes put into this book to allow my child to have a bilingual environment where the family members are engaged and learning together. Totally 100% recommend her books and I look forward to purchasing more from her! Thank you, Peipei!

Book Mama
> 3 dayWeve had this book for months and what a godsend it is, all the more during the pandemic. My 17 month old daughter sits and plays the songs happily, and we all enjoy listening to the authors beautiful voice and real instruments played by hand (so different from the tinny or electronic sound or many childrens toys). This will be my holiday gift to all friends with babies and toddlers. We have no Chinese background and I would get these books if they were in another language too, though Im delighted that my child is learning to say and sing some Mandarin, early in life. The book itself is well made and very durable, even after months of handling by a toddler. The volume is adjustable and good at both levels, unlike other sound books that are too faint or too loud. The songs are a great mix of familiar English nursery tunes, and Chinese songs. This mama is learning to sing the words in Mandarin...maybe its just a start for me too :)

> 3 dayI love this book. My 12 month old is mostly interested in just turning the pages and now pressing the buttons but it’s a good start for her. As a first language English speaker Asian languages are difficult for me but I want better for my baby. This is a sing along book so it helps with pronunciation of the pin yin. I’m even remembering some of the words.
