Absolutely blown away by this product. I was skeptical because of the price being so inexpensive. Most ferro rods at this price point are extremely hard in my experience. Can you start a fire with a hard ferro rod? Yes. But one that is softer makes your life much easier as more material is landing on your fuel. Here’s the kicker, if a rod is too soft than it won’t last as long and you’ll find that material from you rod will literally get stuck to you the spine of your knife. This rod strikes the perfect Ballence between hard and soft ferro rods that I have only seen from the most expensive brands. I cannot recommend highly enough and I will be purchasing again. Value is off the charts.

If you can’t get this rod to spark then stick to a lighter. This rod can produce the sparks. Effortlessly

Its a solid fire steel! Even though the description spells out the dimensions its bigger than you realize and is fairly weighty as well. The sparks flung off of it are white hot and stay glowing for a few seconds and had no trouble of igniting the plethora of materials that I used it on. Its a great product, works well, and I recommend getting one or two. I wish the lanyard hole was just a bit bigger to make standard paracord go through it a bit easier.

After buying this I am always thinking about where I will put the next one I get. Throws a ton of sparks after just a few passes with an edged implement. Should Last longer than my next wifes committment to our vows

Works really great. Depending upon the application, this one can be a bit heavy and bulky, best for car, group, base camp use. Takes a bit of practice to get the technique down to get a fast light.

I have cheaper ones that work better but the size is great. Itll definitely last a while.
