This is a splendid gift for the Ghibli or Totoro fan. It’s grayish-white with blue speckles, so the cup itself is not ‘plain’, and then all the way around is Totoro! The figures are stamped into the ceramic, and then paint is applied in the indentation, so the design is not just surface paint. I don’t use it for liquid, it’s a pen cup for me, and it’s very happy-making. I would buy it again. Totoro bliss!

I just received this mug as a birthday present and I absolutely love it! I had saved it to a wish list, so I knew what I was getting before hand, but it still was prettier in person than I was expecting. Part of me didnt think it would look as good in person as the pics online, but I was so wrong. The design itself is imprinted in the mug, so it has some good texture to it and there werent any imperfections in the ink. The only thing I considered docking a point for is that the mug itself gets really hot, and without a handle it can be overwhelming to hold with hot tea inside. I figure Ill probably appreciate that more in the winter, so I kept it at 5 stars! Would definitely buy another one or gift one to a friend :)

I bought this tea cup as a christmas gift for my sister and she absolutely loves it!

Product arrived broken in 20-30 pieces inside the small box within the larger packing box. I started a return immediately but didnt have access to a printer and missed the return window. Disappointing. Buyer beware: Only a 30-day return window on this one. Product itself looked cute.

Ive worked as a potter and can tell this is really so much better quality than most themed mugs/cups you can buy. This is high fire porcelain, cast relatively thickly so that it is more likely to survive a bump or drop without chipping or cracking. I use mine every day and it has been through the microwave and dishwasher a few hundred times already and looks like new.

The Totoro Dondoko Dance Large Japanese Teacup is made of thick porcelain, so heat transfer from hot tea is unlikely to burn the hand. It really is porcelain, as can be seen in its translucency, and also by its unglazed bottom (which confirms that it is not made of translucent glass). The artwork is beautifully done, and all of the figures are incised into the surface. I also like the larger-than-usual capacity (350 mL or 1.5 cups or 12 fluid ounces).

It is adorable and I bought it because I love totoro! In the description it says it is a large mug that hold 16oz. It is not a mug as it does not have a handle so I wouldn’t serve hot beverages in it. It also doesn’t hold 16oz of water. More like 10-11oz. So it is cute but I won’t be using it for hot tea as I hoped to.
