Bought the EX2780Q after seeing so many positive reviews and finding it can do 1440p @120hz on the Xbox One X. Pictures and online reviews simply cannot do this monitor justice. In real life, it has a incredible image quality. Ive tried numerous monitors and this is the first to give me that wow feeling. Color reproduction is incredible and it runs all of the games Ive tried thus far smooth as silk. For reference I play shooters about 95% of the time so speed is important to me. I have not tried the monitors speakers as I always use a wireless headset. I do see though where some people can have a problem with a few aspects of the monitor that dont bother me. First would be that the stand is tilt only. It sits at a perfect height for me and is very stable so not an issue for me. Secondly would be the cable management system. Im only using a single hdmi and the power cable and I dont really have much room remaining without the cover portion of the stand falling off. If you are intending on using the display port and both hdmi inputs then i honestly dont see how the cover would ever stay on. Then again if you dont care about cable management then its not a issue. I also really like the supplied remote more than I thought I would. Granted I play at a desk but its just convenient to access everything with the remote instead of using the navigation joystick on the back of the monitor. Overall i highly recommended this monitor. Its on instance where I spent over $400 for something game related and have zero issues justifying its price.

Would be a very nice monitor if it didnt have so much backlight bleed. We bought two of these and both of them have backlight bleed in the bottom left corner straight out of the box. Expected better quality from a $450 monitor. Update: A week later and backlight bleed has spread across the bottom of the screen, and is also now visible on both the left and right hand sides of the screen. Dark scenes look terrible and immediate draw the attention of your eyes to the backlight.

I love this monitor. The built in sound is great, saves space on having speakers. The picture quality is superb. I know, the HDR doesnt work, that might disappoint some people, but the picture quality is so great that Im not sure why do I need the HDR. Its very sturdy unlike other flimsy monitors. Also, it looks great and refined. And why do you need 4K if youre sitting so close to it?!

This is a review of my experience with the BenQ ex27890q paired with a PS5. I chose this monitor believing it was the perfect entry level monitor that supported everything you need for gaming on modern consoles. I was half right and Im going to tell you why. The BenQ ex2780q is the perfect size for gaming at a desk. 27 inches is just big enough that you can sit close and get right into the action and have a more intimate gaming experience. The picture quality is very impressive, though, it would be more impressive if the PS5 took full advantage of the monitor. More on that in a bit. The colors out of the box are super vibrant in my humble unprofessional opinion, and the HDR makes the whole experience pop with bright highlights but somewhat unimpressive blacks. Its totally ok though because youll bearly notice when playing games! Ive heard there are better HDR monitors on the market, but your looking at $200 more for those. Not to worry though, this monitors implementation is great. Just dont use the hdri modes, if you want consistent bright highlights. game and cinema hdri modes both offer different image quality settings, but both modes adjust brightness depending on the ambient light in your room. Decrease brightness and you dont get the full HDR effect. Now for the part about me being half right about pairing this particular monitor with the PS5. Ill start with resolution. The maximum resolution of this monitor is 1440p, which is perfect for gaming on consoles. Well, it would be if the PS5 supported native 1440p. Thats something wildly known at this point and I went ahead and bought this monitor knowing that. Im not taking points away for that. Not a big issue, you can get this monitor and future proof yourself for the imminent patch that enables native 1440p resolution. The problem lies with the recent update to the PS5 that enables VRR. This monitor fully supports g-sync/freesync, so again, I wont hold that against the monitor. Its a Sony problem and hopefully will be patched so that the display will work with VRR. I just want it to be known to anyone in my position looking for a monitor that takes full advantage of the PS5, except resolution of course, but its a necessary trade off if you dont want to murder the wallet. ;) Ill tell you why its not a big deal next! Other than that the display is perfect for the price and works really well. Now resolution is one of next gens biggest features. Youll notice a different from 1080p to 1440p and from 1440p to 4K, but the difference from 1440p to 4K isnt as noticable as 1080p to 4K. With this monitor youre essentially future proofing yourself for 1440p support somewhere down the line. Most videogames wont render at a full native 4K and have 60fps. Its really taxing on the hardware, so most games will actually drop the resolution to 1440p to hit a nice stable 60fps, but some games will drop that resolution even further to 1080p to hit even higher fps targets, like, 120fps. And that brings me to why I say this monitor is perfect for next gen gaming. 120fps works without a hitch and is very smooth paired with the 5ms response time of the display, and as I said, the colors are pretty amazing, especially paired with HDR! Youll get the best of both world with this monitor, high fps AND resolution! The difference between 1440p and 4K isnt that big a deal, especially when you can run your games at a smooth 60fps up to 120fps on console. Or all the way up to 144fps with a beefy PC. All in all, this monitor is a great value and an excellent way to future proof yourself for next gen gaming without breaking the bank too hard. This was a long one, but if you think I missed anything or you have any questions youd like me to answer, Id be more than happy to answer if I can.

Great monitor for xbx since it does support 2k/1440p and you WILL get the 60fps you’re looking for. Since the PS5 doesn’t support 1440p for some reason, it is ok. I mean, you will still get 4k, just not at 60fps. I used it on the recent cods, Cold War and trashguard, I mean vanguard and I will get the enhanced 120hz in game and yes they do feel very smooth. For now, I am ok with it. In the future I do plan on obtaining ga monitor that can handle 4k at 60fps, but those are hard to come by now since not many companies make them and the ones that do are asking for an arm and a leg. But this is the best monitor to get until 4k 60fps monitors b come more available. Sound is ok but it does come with a remote which is awesome. Picture is also great. Overall, amazing monitor for 1440p gaming.

Very happy with this monitor. The picture quality is incredible. No dead pixels or anything of the sort. Speakers arent bad either for a monitor. This is third BenQ monitor and they have consistently impressed me with their product quality. Would highly recommend.

This is the most cost-effective IPS 144HZ 27-inch 2k monitor at the same price, which meets my fps game and work needs. I dont understand why a typc-c data cable is given but no DP data cable is provided. By the way, when I use the M1 mac to connect the monitor, the sound of the monitor will be very stuck, no matter what data cable I use, but this may be the problem of the Mac itself, because it is normal when I use the PC to connect

This monitor works very well for gaming. The HDR switches on automatically and looks nice. The only issue I had with image quality is that the bottom of the screen looks yellow compared to the top which looks blue. It is a subtle effect but very distracting when reading text documents. Since your eye is always going up and down over the page (to compare sentences etc.) the screen never looks properly white. Aside from this issue, the color quality is great. Beware that the stand is completely non-adjustable. I had to prop some books underneath it to get it to the right height. I ended up sending mine back because the color temperature issue made it too hard to review documents.

The monitor has everything good that you desire from a quality screen except the poor HDRi. The feature itself isnt too bad but the automatic adjustments are very noticeable in some environments. I suggest you stick to Display HDR if you enable HDR at all.
