> 3 dayMy wife has been talking about this movie since weve been married, she hadnt seen it in years, but remembered that she enjoyed it, but we never could find it streaming anywhere so we finally decided to buy it. I had never heard of it, and she knowing that I like to go in blind on movies, didnt tell me anything about it. However, from seeing the cover I had an idea...WRONG, but in a good way. It held up in her book, and I liked it, and would recommend. Came a day early and in great condition. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would.

> 3 dayWe liked the movie, but like all movies made from the novel there were parts that were missing or added.

> 3 dayId say this is good for around 9 years old and up. I love the story for capturing youth and imagination and refreshingly breaking the hollywood formula a bit... But while worthwhile in the end and making for a most excellent story arc, this could be a bit shocking to younger or more sheltered kids. Will engage adults too, though. I was just starting to doze off during this another kids movie when BAM i was back and awake...

> 3 dayA horror movie is one thing but this is a horror movie disguised as a family movie. Dont get me wrong, there is no violence whatsoever in this movie, but horror nonetheless. I just dont get it. sorry. Some will argue that the story is a valuable teaching to young viewers on how to handle the death of a loved one. True, young people will eventually need to face that, but not this way! Let it happen when it happens in real life so that they are not alone in their hurting. Maybe the book handled the outcome more sensitively, I dont know, didnt read it, but I do know the movie used shock tactics to its fullest. And Im sure there are plenty of viewers who enjoyed that but there are also at least as many people like me, I think most of them just dont talk about it. For younger viewers who may have been traumatized by this tragedy, watch Because of Winn-Dixie (also starring AnnaSophia Robb) to help lift their spirits back up.

Greater than one weekI have seen this movie several times, and I still cant get through it without crying. Im not an overly emotional kind of person, but this one hits right in the feels. Its a great movie though. Excellent actors, phenomenal storyline and visuals, wonderfully directed. My kids have requested it several times. Its a bit heavy for small children (mine are 3 and 4), but they love how the kids use their imagination to create a world full of magic and adventure. Its the kind of movie that sticks with you and its one of my favorites.
