> 24 hourI mainly use it for transferring files from PS5 to PC and it works perfectly. Extremely fast transfer speed on both ends. The Type C connector is also an amazing option. The drive also works as an extended storage for the PS5. Highly recommend. 10/10

> 24 hourGot this on sale for $65 or so.. Was getting insane transfer speeds from an internal nvme drive to this via a super speed USB port. Impressed so far.

> 24 hourNever got to use it and Buffalo refunded cost. 4 stars because I think it would have worked fine, but is not useful to leave attached to iMac or PC to function as a permanent startup/boot drive. A single short sentence noted not to leave it connected such as a thumb drive. So I bought a smaller cheaper PNY SSD which allowed me to save my old mac with an old dying HD. Buffalo Customer service was great to work with but device was not right for my application. So dont dump your old mac because the HD do es, just add an external SSD and boot up from that. Still working.

> 24 hourPlugged it in and I lost the Windows Start button from the task bar as soon as I clicked on the desktop computer icon. I had to restart the system and, when I did, i was thrown into a CHKDSK operation on my boot drive that has kept that computer busy now for about three hours. Im not a happy camper. After 5 hours of CHKDSK (on my boot drive!), it appears to be working. Frightening experience.

> 24 hourI bought the 1TB version on sale for $69. The Buffalo name has been around for quite a few years, so I don’t consider them an off-brand, but when I saw this 1TB USB drive for such a low price, I was pretty skeptical and wondered if it wasn’t some knockoff company trying to sell their garbage as the Buffalo brand. I figured since this was still Amazon I’d give it a try since I could always return it if I felt I got scammed. I’m used to the nice metal casing and overall “heft” you get when you buy drives like the Corsair GTX so when this Buffalo arrived, I was nearly positive I got scammed because the plastic casing they use is quite cheesy and very lightweight. It almost feels like it’s going to break if you carry it around in your pocket. Nevertheless, I plugged it into my computer and it did indeed show up as 1TB. I’m aware that there are plenty of knockoff USB drives out there that use creative formatting and bogus firmware to trick your computer into thinking it’s a large drive, so the first thing I did was clean it off and create a brand new partition (which did format as 1TB). After that I started copying ~930GB worth of media. This is where I started to realize this was a legitimate drive because it sustained ~115MB/s of write speed (I was copying from the network and this is nearly it’s maximum throughput) throughout the entire copying process. Once it was done, I played each of the copied files and skipped throughout various portions to make sure the entire thing copied correctly. You know what? It did. Every single one was perfect so this drive is definitely the real deal. This drive isn’t $69 anymore, but it looks like it’s still on sale so if you want a fast/large drive you can carry around with you, then I would recommend giving this Buffalo a try. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the casing they use is pretty chintzy.
