I bought this for my wife who was always having trouble with her HP printer. I myself have a Canon Pixma iP6000D and have had great success with it. The iP2600 is smaller, simpler and good-looking in black. And works just as well.

Ive been searching high and low for a good printer, settled on this one due to the good reviews and ordered it from newegg. Went through the non-trivial install process for OSX 10.5, and the print driver is absolutely useless. When printing from programs like Adobe Reader, Firefox or Preview, I have absolutely NO printing options. I have to print the entire document, in full color. The only program that seems to have access to the full driver is MS Office for some reason. Canon support was not helpful in this issue at all. They basically said Oh well. We dont support all features in OSX 10.5. Good thing it was a cheap printer and Im not out a whole lot of money. Seems like some people are using it with OSX 10.5 just fine, so if there are ways to get the driver to work, please advise!

While Id never try to use such a printer for work use, this is a perfect printer for the home and home office that prints a couple of pages per day. The price is low, and the quality can be adjusted for reasonably high DPI. Photos, once the beads have settled into the photo paper, leave no streaks and it has an interface you can run to fine tune print head alignment. As for ink, you know what youre getting. Of course these things go through ink. Im still on my original cartridges, and on the 2nd fill for each one. Get a refill kit (I got 4 oz of each color and 8 oz black) and call it good. Use a tool called IPTool.exe (I use version 1.1.5) to reset the color counters of the cartridge. If you dried the cartridge out (or one color out) you can still refill it, and then run the deep head cleaning from the native software to get it working again. IPTool.exe can reset the software counter for that color on the cartridge, and youre back in business. Ive basically spent about $55 for the printer, and $39 for a refill kit that may last me the life of the printer if the jets hold out. So far the color cartridge went dry once, and running back to back deep-cleans fixed everything.

Reasonably priced, quality is there as usual and very easy to install - watch out for finger prints and I really wish ink jets printers come with USB cable... really come on.

I bought this printer in 2009 before college, and boy did I love it! I still do love it, and I plan to take it with me to grad school. I am sure in the past 5 years of use, this printer did stutter and jam several times... but for the most part, my impression of my printer is a positive one. I got this for less than $100, so I think I got this for a bargain. I guess the price went up. This printer is not the fastest, but it got the job done. You have to manually manipulate the papers and printing settings to get double-sided printing (which I made mistakes with several times). The printing quality was very much sufficient for essays and lecture notes with images. I am too cheap to use expensive ink to print photos with this, but I am sure people liked it for its intended purpose. It is loud when it prints, so if you live in a 3-person, tiny dorm room like I did freshman year, late-night printing would be a bit rude. Love this printer, and i hope I can keep using it!

For the price, this printer is wonderful! The print quality is good and its easy to use. My only complaint is that the ink seems to run out pretty quickly.

For the life of me, I cannot believe that Canon did not include a printer tray on this printer. This means that whenever you print from this, it doesnt have a nice sheet coming out from it like the picture but spits out your documents all over the ground. Furthermore, the cartridges are tiny. These small little cartridges hold such little ink and constantly need to be replaced and always seem to be drying out and need to be cleaned using the software included with the printer. The catch? Cleaning uses up ink. I am a college student that prints documents and no color, but apparently I cleaned the cartridges enoguh that the color cartridge became empty and it stopped printing until I replaced it. I have always felt that printer companies are like drug dealers, they try to hook you with a cheap printer and then hit you with the expensive cartridges later. This is really just about as bad as it gets with an inkjet printer. I know its a bargain-basement deal, but Canon really cuts corners on this thing way too much. Stay away if you want to protect your sanity. I am writing this at 3am in the morning because my printer, which has two recently replaced cartridges, wont print properly and my documents are all splotched.

The first one I received didnt work right out of the box. A new one was sent which is fine. It is an attractive unit, however, in order to keep a supply of paper in it, you must open the top and front for operation which spoils the looks. I dont use it too much, so I just keep paper elsewhere and keep the unit closed.

The Canon PIXMA printer I received from this seller is an amazing printer/photo printer that does a magnificent job. The quality if the print, the speed of the printing and the photo quality is top notch. I will never send away or bring my memory card to a store for copies again. I now print my own photos and they are sparkling reproductions that are good at even a large size and look wonderful in a photo album or a frame. As far as the printing quality. It is terrific. I keep a very organized recipe notebook where I have punch-holed all of these recipes that I print, sort them in categories (i.e. Poultry, Seafood, Soups, Desserts) and then sub-categories (i.e. by country, white stock soups, beef stock soups) and can easily refer to them when I cook. The seller was generous in that they sent a USB cord with the printer that did not originally come with the product. Plus, it arrived at my home way before the ETA delivery date. This is a trust-worthy seller who cares about the product and customer service guaranteed.

Just a wonderful quality item for what it is made to do. Its simple to install; its quiet; its quick; ink cartridges seem to be lasting a reasonable length of time....I just have to say A++++++ and way to go Canon once again.
