Caron One Pound is a very good value. I chose it to make an afghan for my granddaughter who will be heading to college this coming fall. The colors were not exactly as shown. The cream is really a soft yellow which doesnt work for this project with the grays. I will use the yellow for another project so it wont go to waste. Perhaps larger photos of colors would be more helpful.

A little heavy weight for garments though for it to make year long garments but it will work best for 3 seasons instead of summer unless its cooler.

Great bang for your buck, no splitting of the yarn. I find it a touch scratchy when first using it but ran it through the washer and dryer and it held up beautifully and softened the yarn a bit. Pic is of Afghan after wash and drying.

I ordered 4 of these and used 3 1/2 on my project. I came across NO broken ends, NO tangles and NO frays. Will definitely order this brand of yarn again for my projects.

I use this yarn for making prayer blankets at the church for those who are sick and shut in.

The color is barely charcoal, not black at all. It does not go with the project I need to finish, so I have to put it on hold until I go to brick-and-mortar store to ger the real one. UGH....

Ive never had an issue with this brand before, but for whatever reason, my last purchase smelled like a dorm bathroom. Ive let them air out for a few weeks now and the smell seems to have dissipated and is barely present now. In a time crunch, you might have to wash the skein or use a gentle contact freshener. This was the first time Ive run into this issue and the smell wasnt present on the other colors I purchased. Generally speaking, I prefer Caron yarns to Red Heart because you can buy larger skeins for big projects (no tying necessary) and I find it to be slightly softer in comparison as well.

It just wasnt soft enough.
