CHIAOGOO Twist Red Lace Interchangeable Cables 50, Small

I have used ChiaoGoo for a couple of years now. I have cast on many projects. I ordered this extra cable for my interchangeable set to hold on other projects and start on a new blanket for my friend who is having twins. I have never had an issue before with the connection of the needle and the cable. the transition is always smooth and the yarn never gets caught. Yesterday I noticed that the yarn was catching, which I thought was weird. Last night the cable snapped! The return window just passed so I am unable to initiate a return. I am just sad that this is my first bad experience with ChiaoGoo products since I started using them a few years ago. Now I need to purchase another cable and/or transfer my blanket to another needle with a long cord. I hope I can get it finished in time. :(
