I love these crochet hooks. The handle part is easy to grip, barely have to exert any pressure. So great for my slightly-arthritic hands. The actual hook at the tip is fine enough that I can use it, without having to punch it into the stitches. Clover is a worth every penny. The extra large sizes seem always to be plastic, rather than metal, but still work just fine.

I love everything about Clover crochet hooks. I own these larger hooks for working with thicker yarns. They are very light and comfortable to hold. Just like their smaller metal hooks these are so smooth working through the yarn. Just like their smaller hooks they are a bit more expensive, but worth it to me. I think Clover makes the best crochet hooks, and I have a large collection of other brands I don’t even use now.

I hate that I even had to give this one star. Do yourself a favor and do some research before buying this set. The hooks are wonderful, dont get me wrong. I have a set and I love them. My issue is the rip-off price for a set of five hooks. JoAnns sells these hooks individually for about $7 - $9, and thats not figuring in any coupons. Lets say that the regular price for 2 of these hooks is $7, 2 are $8, and 1 is $9. Thats $39 regular price for 5 hooks. Now figure you have 2 50% off coupons and 3 40% off coupons. JoAnns stacks coupons, so you can use a coupon for every item you buy (in-store, only one coupon when ordering online). So, before tax, youre looking at $21.70. That is a substantial price difference! $71.97 is highway robbery for this set. Food for thought....
