Horrible item the second purchasing I purchased this , it only came with bio balls !

So far so good. Impossible to completely rinse but every AC is like that.

have a 1500 gal koi pond which had tea colored water. I purchased two 5 pound activated carbon in media bags and in several weeks have a clear pond.

Replaced the media that came with our canister filter with this instead and it got the job done! Kept up pretty well on a 120 gallon fresh water aquarium. This product will help you achieve a complete ecosystem within your aquarium

This filter media seems to be doing a great job my water is nice and Crystal clear

Works very good. Im on my 6th water change and the ceramic pieces are holding up better than I anticipated. Well worth the money.

It looks like it is working good. I am using it for the first time.. I will update my review if I see any problem with this product. So far my filter is working good with these products and the water of my turtles tank is Crystal clear..

Good product for the price

I had read that this product could dust up the water of a small koi pond pretty badly, so I rinsed it very, very well. I then placed the bag of media into a perforated plastic tray on top of my biofiltration media. At first it appeared a little dusty, but after a few hours, the water cleared up. 24 hours later the water is still stabilizing after the addition of a 55 gallon drum biofilter, but it appears fine. This is a charcoal medium unlike any I have worked with in the past. I have a large bag of more traditional media and a dozen media bags on the way. In the meantime, I see no harm in this, but I believe it would work more efficiently in a canister with a post filtration setup than it does in my more informal biofiltration.
