With the 3 axis adjustment, this mount will connect to almost any point that has a lip. Nice, solid mount.

We certainly like the mount. However they barely fit the lip of the rear hatch on a Dodge Journey. They fit, however just barely. Grounding is an issue and loss of paint from opening and closing the hatch. The second mount we received had a loose NMO mount insert that we had to secure. The insert became lodged in the antenna and we had a heck of a time removing the insert to reinstall on the NMO mount, with thread lock. All in all, it beats drilling holes, dropping headliners, etc. You have to keep a constant eye on these mounts, but they work.

I recently purchased this Comet CP-5NMO trunk mount, for my Mustang. The Browning BR-140 NMO antenna is fastened to it and into my Cobra 25 LTD. Because this is a trunk mount, the lid itself might NOT have a COMPLETE ground to the body when closed. I installed 3/8 wide copper braided wire on both sides of the lid, directly to the body. There were trunk and body bolts to attach the braided copper wire for solid uninterrupted possible ground problems. With this Comet trunk mount and the Browning BR-104 Antenna being perfectly vertical, plus the exceptional SWR, what more can you ask for.

This is my third unit. I have used them since my 2006 Prius and the latest is going on my 2020 Tesla. Makes mounting and running the cable as easy as possible.

I tried to use this as a rear door mount on a 2019 Toyota Tacoma. It is heavy, but the device seems to secure to the top of the door very well. BUT the problem is that it sticks out and catches all kinds of wind noise going at highway speeds. I tried turning the top of the unit around, but the knob to tighten the antenna is so big it pushes against the roof. Im hanging on to it in hopes of convincing my wife to let me attach it to the trunk of her car, but as a door mount, I just cant recommend it.

The hole in the lip mount was too small for the included NMO antenna base to fit into. It required drilling the hole out larger, which was quite difficult.

I remove the antenna and cover the mount with an NMO rain cap when I go through the car wash. I also switch between a 1/4 wavelength and 1/2 wavelength antenna, depending on terrain. About 40 antenna length for the 1/2 wave. I grounded the mount to the hood, and I achieve about 1.2 SWR at 145.460 MHz with the 1/4 wave antenna. I am very pleased with the mounts performance.

Very versatile mount. Comet mounts are always too notch.
