> 3 dayI`m having difficulty with many of these video editors releases of new full versions that do not seem to have so many features added and instead a ton of templates and cookie cutter content. I also do not like the idea of switching GUI functions on the editor innovative because you must re-learn where everything is again. This makes the new version seem like a switched around skin update (of sorts). I was disappointed to see that I had the prior edition, and they were popping up in my notifications about buying this version for the same price. After trying it (extensively) I concluded that although Ultimate is a great editor, they are hardly trying to reinvent the wheel or too much more of the same old. It has not had any bugs or crashes as the prior versions (yet). People do not buy video editors so frequently unless it`s a budget youtuber and there are many free options like Openshot and others to counter this in almost every feature. So why get it? Well, if you are not familiar with their products, they are great for beginners because of ease of use, support very feature rich with many bells and whistles of much more expensive professional software. It has it all neatly organized with their easy on the eye layouts and their editor lets you get in the grain, while the effects and font selection of subtitles are not as difficult to use as others. Production time is cut dramatically, processing time is smooth too with everything right in front of you (once you get familiar with all the intimidating icons, sliders, fields and scrubber.

> 3 dayIve used Corels video editor in the past. Its a decent product, but with every passing year, it feels clunkier and clunkier. This software needs a rebuild from the ground up. The biggest issue is the user interface. It feels old and outdated. In some places, its outright annoying. This is very apparent when you use the capture function. Youll have to monkey around to find the multi-cam capture. On one hand I applaud the fact that MCC is now imbedded in the main program, instead of a standalone app, but it should be much easier to find. That capture tab is just a mess. Another huge issue is the optimization. This thing runs like hot garbage at times. I have a new PC and a top of the line video card. This runs much slower than previous versions Ive used on older, less powerful machines. There is a monkey in the room we need to address with this software. If you are only looking for a video editor, for basic editing, this is a terrible choice. If you want an excellent video editor, for intensive processing, this is a terrible choice. The only people I can see getting value out of this, is an aspiring YouTuber who wants beyond basic editing. For the average person who just wants to edit basic video, the video editor Microsoft puts in Windows 10, for free, is a much better option. There is another issue that severely impacts the value. This is a Corel product. Ah, Corel! The EA of the media editing world. If youre not sure what that means, this is what you are going to get: 1 - Some updates over the next year. 2 - Subpar support 3 - Random glitches that will drive you nuts. 4 - You will witness your software turn into adware after a year. Number four is the biggest issue for me. Corel is infamous for this. Prepare to get assaulted with ads that try to get you to dish out money after a year. These ads might even show up in your Windows feed. Its aggressive and shameful, when youve already paid a good amount of money for the software. Basically, this one is really hard to recommend and even more so if you already have a previous version. There just isnt enough to really justify upgrading to this one. Id hold off until Corel overhauls the UI.

> 3 dayBought this (Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2021) in spring of 2022 from Amazon. Tried a number of times to install it. Contacted tech support via chat numerous times and got at least 3 different techs. It seems that tech support comes from some business other than Corel. Tried both disc and download versions numerous times. Always encountered 3 or 4 error messages along the way but installation continued until the 4th or fifth error message. Then installation stopped. Error Messages gave no details or codes - only said to contact tech support. During installation of both disk and download my AVG antivirus informed me that the program was trying to install the Win32/Heri virus. I told the program to ignore (not download) the virus although later I allowed the program to download it thinking maybe that was why the Corel program wouldnt install. After contacting Corel we started cycling through the same 4 or 5 solutions. None of them worked. In the meantime I kept receiving emails asking if the problem had been solved. When I clicked on the reply button IMBEDDED IN THEIR EMAIL it went to a website which stated that the website was no longer in use but gave no further instruction!!!! GOODBYE COREL. I LOVED YOU AND 3 OF YOUR PROGRAMS FOR YEARS BUT YOU HAVE TURNED INCOMPETENT. FOUR MONTHS OF FUTILE EFFORT, A PROGRAM WITH A VIRUS AND A DEADEND WEBSITE IS ENOUGH!

> 3 dayUnfortunately I did not understand that there was a free trial version of this software. It is on my computer, a complete waste of money and I have no options for getting my money refunded. Beware. I am disappointed in my purchase but I am also disturbed with Amazon. Caveat Emptor.

> 3 dayThank heavens I downloaded the trial version. This program crashes constantly. I searched YouTube (lots of people with the same issue), and even tried some recommended fixes. I might have a good day, no crashes, and get some confidence in the product. Then the next day, the program closes itself. I have a fairly new computer, and keep up with my updates. Now Im trying to uninstall. I go through the Settings App, to Corel. If I chose uninstall, it defaults to repair. That is my only choice, repair or back. Ive moved on to Cyberlink Power director. As a Photoshop user, there is a bigger learning curve moving to Power Director, but it hasnt crashed in the two weeks Ive been using it. Still unable to uninstall Corel.

> 3 dayI have never experienced a piece of software so hard to use. This thing could probably edit your videos and make you a sandwich, BUT good luck figuring out how! I just dont want to spend 10 hours learning how to simply clip unwanted pieces of MP4 videos and stitching back together into a seamless edited video. Completely useless user guide. NO INDEX !!! Sorry I wasted my money.

> 3 dayIve done a little video editing using the editor buried in the MS software under photos, or was it draw? Anyway, hard to find and awkward to use - but does okay. Corel VideoStudios is a huge improvement with music and effect. Im going to have a lot of fun experimenting with it. Loading took over an hour - at one point it stalled out for 15 minutes and I thought it had crashed! But lots of cool toys. Definitely worth the $70 entrance fee - compare to a dinner and movie - and this will last much longer, even allow me to make my own movies!!!
