Dakine Baja Surf Tie Down Straps 12Ft

Straps are well made with a solid buckle that has neoprene cover to protect cargo. I only use these to haul surf or paddle boards, 1-3 at a time and the tighten down nice secure. Only problem when strapping down boards is that if you dont run the straps to where the buckle ends up at the front, towards the hood, there is a lot of intolerable noise at anything over 35mph. Now with that said, there is still some noise even with the buckle placed in the front, just not as bad. I do own a Wrangler and I had the top down. So I cant say how the noise level is with a enclosed vehicle.

Just used my 12’ Dakine tie down straps to secure my 10.6 SUP to roof racks. Worked beautifully. Durable, easy to use and neoprene buckle cover protected my board from scratches. Traveled at 65mph and no vibration/whistling if you put a twist in the strap. Board didn’t budge. Would buy again!

I was using straps I got at the hardware store. These are just a little wider and thicker strap. I like the padding around the buckle but would like the padding to completely cover buckle for when Im sliding the buckle across my SUP boards to the other side. They often clink on the roof of my car. Maybe I will try a wash cloth and rubber band. These are long enough to strap 1 or 2 SUP boards to my cars roof bars. Too short to do 3 boards I think. Over all I am quite happy with these straps.

These are high quality straps. I like the fact that they are wide and well made. I use them to strap down several paddle boards and they are very secure and the pads on the metal prevents any damage to the boards. I have the HF cheapie straps, those will be put in the back of the tool box...I would recommend thse straps if you are holding down anything of value.
