Bought for family movie nights for a huge family so far its been great, audio is better than expected.

They projector arrived well packaged and was a snap to setup. I had previously owned and Yaber Y30 which had to be retired due to the unit pulling large amounts of dust into the lens inside the unit. The DBPOWER unit has a much better picture than my Yaber. I’ve seen criticism of the brightness of the picture, but I do not agree. The remote is very easy to use and setup is a breeze. I highly recommend the unit for the price and quality.

First off, as others have said, it is absolutely not even close to 9500 lumens. I have a BenQ 2000 lumen projector from 2012 thats almost twice as bright. Its bright enough in ideal conditions, though. The image gets softer around the edges so its impossible to have the entire frame in focus, so you just go for focus in the middle. I purchased it to go into an extra room for the kids and wife to use for games and movies and they like it, so Im not going to return it but if it were up to me Id have returned it. Great picture and simple setup. Only supports 2.4 WiFi so my tests lagged a bit. Also not able to stream YouTube TV but was able to stream from other apps, likely a YouTube issue.

I was looking for a projector to use for Halloween projections. This unit was a big surprise for me. It was great for that but even more it is a great projector for watching tv or videos. The picture is huge and bright. I set it up on my wall in my living room and it filled the entire wall. I had to zoom in to make the picture smaller just to fit. Thats awesome. The other features all worked just fine. My only complaint is when you use a thumb drive for playing video files, the video will restart from the beginning if you stop the video. It will not start where you stopped. Not a deal breaker! The fan is a little noisy but has a decent built in speaker. Im impressed with the DB POWER, its a great value and great unit. And I love the padded carrying case it comes with.

UPDATE- The company reached out to me and sent me a new one, so I decided to review it fairly. I believe I received a defective unit, so I highly recommend everyone who purchases this item to test it properly, because a working one of these is great: *** Upon opening the projector, you’re greeted by a very cute small backpack that opens all the way to reveal the projector and a few cables - hdmi, AV (I think), and the power cord. You also have a manual and a remote. The projector itself comes with a lens cap, and is absolutely amazing. You’re greeted with the home screen, which gives you access to each input, and the settings. I connected a Chromecast to this, but the screen share on it is amazing and reliable. I’m able to connect my phone within just a few seconds. The quality is definitely 1080p, and the focus is super easy. However, the part that stands out to me the most is keystone. I can put my projector anywhere in my room and keystone it so that it looks straight. This feature makes it so worth it, because it maintains the quality really well. In terms of brightness, the projector is pretty bright. At nighttime you might have to turn the brightness down, and you can see the screen in a light daylight, I’d definitely not recommend trying it in direct sunlight though. I watched a 3 hour movie and a few episodes of a show today, and it was great. No burning, no overheating, nothing. Only time will tell if it survives, but customer service is great to contact if you need any help or notice anything strange. The only thing I wish it had was Bluetooth, which can be solved with a Bluetooth adapter that plugs into the unit’s USB port. Regardless, for the price, this is definitely the best and simplest projector you can buy if you’re hosting a party outdoors, indoors, or just need something quick and easy. —old review below— I received this projector this afternoon and was so pleasantly surprised when opening it. It arrived in a whole backpack! I was stunned. I began removing the accessories, setting everything up, and turned it on. It was beautiful, especially the keystone correction was amazing. Then comes nighttime. I turned it back on with my friends to watch my first movie on it. In the middle of the movie, my friend closest to the projector said he smelled something funny. We all looked over at the projector to see it smoking from the vents. The screen began turning brown, so we quickly unplugged the projector and put it on the floor so it doesn’t burn our table What started as such an amazing purchase turned into a disaster, in only a few hours. Looking at the other reviews I see similar things have happened after months of usage, but I also see so much positivity. Are these just defective units? I can’t imagine something that looked so promising can spontaneously combust. Now the projector shows brown all over the image, and I won’t keep it on for more than 2 minutes or else it heats up quickly. I really wish this worked for me.

It was great, bright, affordable, and good audio. We really liked it as a daily use TV replacement. But within 60 days we noticed the left side started to look yellow. As the weeks went on it got darker and more noticeable. Now it looks like a urine stain on the wall whenever we turn it on. The last projector we got from DB did this too, maybe something to do with the bulb? Maybe we run it too long? But either way it’s too noticeable to use now. If you want this for occasional use then this will last you a long time but for daily use its going to wear out on you in less than a year.

outstanding picture quality and size but lacking in versatility in sound via the audio jack option, not a real deal breaker but should be noted it needs to be enhanced with an sound system amplifier for the full movie emersion experience.

We’ve had some great movie nights with this projector. The picture isn’t perfect, but it’s still pretty darn good for the price. The volume doesn’t go very high so plan on plugging in an external speaker.

Im awaiting my 3rd RD828 ! Perhaps my expectations are too high for what is after all, a budget projector. Im almost sure they are, as i have a high level home theater in a dedicated room using a great Epson projector. I wanted to use a budget LED projector to project a pc based golf simulation program in my game room. The RD828 seemed like it would fit that bill adequately, but although it is strong in some areas, quality control is not one of them. Both units i returned showed artifacts on screen that are evidence of poor assembly environmental cleanliness - Read, not assembled in a clean room ! Hairs and dead pixels that could be dirt, probably on an internal lens, were visible on the screen, and once seen, thats all i could see ! Im hoping the 3rd sample does not have these issues, because I like several things about this unit. The picture is very close to correctly focused in all 4 corners, while the center image is focused, which is hard for a budget LED to achieve. I tried a Nexigo PJ20 first and it was terrible in this regard. With that unit, you could have the center or the corners focused, but not both ! Light output is ok in a semi dark room, but as is to be expected, any ambient light washes it out. 4 corner keystone correction works amazingly well, as does digital zoom reduction. Ill update, if the 3rd time becomes a charm :) Dropped to a one star. 3rd one had something rattling around inside it and picture was the worst yet. I give up on this one unfortunately. It showed promise, but unless im being extremely unlucky, quality control is non existent.
