Dell Optiplex 7040 Business SFF Computer Small Tower PC (Intel Core i5-6500, 16GB Ram, 256GB SSD, DVD-RW, WiFi) Win 10 Pro (Renewed)

The Dell Optiplex 7040 out of the box from the vendor are great workhorse PCs with very few issues which is why I was happy to purchase a refurb one for home use. This certified refurbished model barely worked a year and has had a myriad of issues. They also used quite literally the cheapest, crappiest, most terrible hard drive I have ever seen. I understand why they pop in garbage hard drives because they need to make a very tight profit margin but seriously, this thing is so tiny and so flimsy that it looks like it came out of a gum ball machine. I am very bummed because the machine is not fixable and far past the 90 day window. Please be very careful buying refurbs, youre getting completely inferior parts on machines that may have had issues brand new.

I chose this product because the product title and description states that it comes with a DVD-RW, 16GB RAM. My work requires a DVD-RW. It would cost half the price of the unit for me to purchase the DVD-RW and RAM that would bring the product up to its advertised specification. I returned the unit.

Got it for my son to install Linux. Came with windows 10. Runs super smooth with pre installed windows.. Mint Linux installed flawlessly. Condition is good considering that it is refurbished. Excellent value for the price. Will buy again.

Computer came perfectly fine, I have experience with this model of computer and this is what i reccomend. However it did not come with the main 2 cords.

Ive had this little guy for about a year now (since may of 2022) and it worked fine up until yesterday it turned off on me and I smelled burn like something fried. Its likely the PSU since nothing boots at all and the power button doesnt do anything so thats disappointing... Keep this in mind when buying. Also when I had first received the PC a year ago the fan noise on the PSU was a bit odd sounding so it was probably beginning to fail already when it arrived. :( EDIT: looks like it was actually a motherboard short or a capacitor that fried... cause I got a new PSU and it still doesnt boot! the PSU test was successful though so the PSU is working but yeah the motherboard is messed up. Unfortunate :(

This was a great purchase. Needed a new desktop for an employee. Shipped faster than the original notification stated. Came with a keyboard!

I received a refurbished dell computer from SJ computers and immediately after starting it up I was having problems with loading most apps ,I had trouble with the PC just randomly encountering an error and restarting ,this would happen a few times a day. I requested a replacement to be sent and I would return the one I had. All they did was keep calling Me from different numbers and all times of the day and asking Me to fix it. I dont know a lot about computers and They expected Me to do all types of stuff that I really didnt have the time to try and figure out. I assumed They tested these things if They are refurbishing them, I could be wrong. After waiting 4-5 days for them to Email Me a return Shipping label I requested a refund and amazon approved it. I sent it back and got My money back. Would not recommend this seller based on this experience.

not a bad deal for the money should have gotten better intel processor tho
