> 24 hourThis is a great little monitor for console gaming on the ps4/xbox one generation or as an office/school monitor. The colors are accurate and the build quality are really solid at its price. To me 24-25 inch monitors are the hotspot for getting work done or gaming as you can always see whats on your display without having to lean back at that size. There are many options in settings including a Gaming picture mode for you gamers! The menu is pretty easy to get around which is always a plus for calibration and other modes! Overall this is a solid monitor at a great value!

> 24 hourI lucked out getting this when it was half off! I was on a 10 year old Dell monitor, and figured it was time to upgrade. Dell makes very good monitors. One thing I immediately noticed was that the monitor shows TRUE white. A lot of monitors have a yellowish tint to the white. Its also BRIGHT, and the colors pop. Im visually impaired, and this has helped enormously. Im really not a gamer, but Netflix and Hulu look amazing! Two notes. Firstly, check the advanced display settings in Windows. By default, itll often use 60hz. Bump it up! Secondly, it DOES NOT have speakers. It has a headphone pass through. Im thoroughly satisfied.

> 24 hourThe monitor works great, but beware of the SHORT power cord that comes standard with this Dell monitor. The power cord is a laughable 3 ft. Assuming you set the monitor at the edge of your desk and your power outlet / surge protector is elevated (not on the floor), youll be fine. Otherwise, this length of a cord will only reach about halfway down the desk. Expect to purchase a replacement power cord that is longer. I have owned many Dell monitors before and the power cords have always been longer than this.

> 24 hourWorks well for my home office, easy to see text, nice and bright, and good color filters for lowering amount of blue light. 75hz capable as well The stand can be adjusted, but is not very tall. I would have it set on something a bit higher up than your desk, but the screen can also be tilted upwards.

> 24 hourThis is a solid monitor for a work/school set up. I dont game on it other than to plug my switch so my needs for fast refresh rates are minimal. The picture quality is pretty sharp. My only issue with it is the lack of HDMI spots - theres only one.

> 24 hourThis 24” offering from Dell is another step in the direction they take every year, with very slight improvements each time. While it does have a 75Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync, there is nothing especially spectacular about this monitor. Its features include: • 75Hz refresh rate • AMD FreeSync • 4ms response time • IPS panel with matte antiglare • Near-edgeless design • VESA 100 mounting compatible • Adjustable stand allows for pan, tilt, height, and rotation Color usage on this monitor is very good due to the IPS display. The matte antiglare screen dumbs the colors slightly, but it still looks good. The near-edgeless display is nice, and the back of the monitor is pretty stylish. It is VESA 100 capable, which is a huge plus. The 75Hz refresh rate has been common in Dell monitors for years, and this is no exception. The inclusion of FreeSync is very much welcome, but beyond that, this is roughly the same monitor they put out last year, and the year before. It’s good, but offers very little image customization options beyond a helpful blue-light filter and some presets. The best thing about this specific monitor is the adjustable stand (which is optional). The stand is not only sturdy, it is also elegant. It allows for side-to-side panning, up & down tilting, height adjustment, and 90-degree rotation, which puts the monitor in portrait mode. It’s simple, it’s attractive, and it works very well. I also want to go over some of the negative aspects of this monitor. The screen’s maximum brightness is a paltry 250 nits. As a result, the contrast between light and dark elements is weak, and the screen may not get as bright as you might expect (though I have no complaints). This also means that HDR is not supported. There are no built-in speakers on this model either – for clarity, I received the S2421HS with adjustable stand. The monitor also has a poor viewing angle, but that is a fault of most IPS panels in general. Lastly, it is thicker than I expected, with a curved back that is thickest in the middle and thinnest near the edges. There is no shortage of 1080p monitors targeting the office/home office demographic, so a monitor either needs to stand out, or have already been a household name beforehand. This monitor unfortunately does not stand out from the pack, though it is attractive. With that said, it is a Dell product, and if Dell is anything, they are reliably consistent. That’s what you get with the S2421HS – a reliable, consistent, small step up from last year’s model. A no frills monitor that gets the job done. Therefore, I do recommend it, but not at its current price.
