> 24 hourI expected a cheap tap, given the price, but this 1-8 tap still disappointed me. I used it to chase an already threaded hole in cast iron, way down in a deep well. It would not fit in my Lisle tap socket. The nominal spec for the flats on a 1 tap is .600; I measure my other 1 taps at .595+-.001. This one was .603 one way and .602 the other; too big for a tap socket. I had to mutilate it on a belt grinder to get it to fit.

> 24 hourNice, easy and quick transaction. Tap set was perfect for reclaiming a 10-24 thread on a tool that woud have cost $50 or more to replace.

> 24 hourI really wish they could have been supplied in high speed steel, instead of carbon steel. I tap some tough materials, and I have concerns how long these will hold up.

> 24 hourJan2023: a performer for the price point, cuts cleanly with properly ground/dressed flute edges. Nickel-alloy content similar to more expensive taps thus easier to get started in steel.. At least the ones i received this order werent like the poorly manufactured threads you see too often.

> 24 hourI didnt need all 3 but it was a size I didnt have out of my 500 taps I have so I figured get all 3 . For me this is the size for my 3point hitch on my tractor

> 24 hourI bought the set for a one-time use of this odd size (M13x1.5). Price was right at about 1/3 the cost of other taps but the steel isnt top quality. The worked well to cut the threads I needed in cast 6061 aluminum. They came out clean, sharp and accurate but I dont think the taps will hold up for the long haul. Theyre a very good value for limited use. If you need to cut a lot of threads or plan to keep them for years, youd be better off spending more and getting better quality tools.
