No strips. Instead it has indented area where the pad sinks into. That and the material work together so that it never moves from where one sets it! I love it

> 24 hourI purchased this case for my iPad Mini 2 to replace another brands similar-looking case. With the old case, the iPad snapped into the plastic holder and over the years (and a few drops), the plastic broke in a couple corners and the iPad Mini would slip unsuspectingly right out of the case. With this DTTO case, the iPad is firmly held in place by the rubberized holder. The fit is snug and feels very secure and should also act as a shock absorber in the event of drops. I expect this DTTO case to outlast my previous case and provide many more year of protection.
