Glad I changed over to single blade, its simply a better shave. This box is about three years of blades for me, so its way cheaper than the other options.

I bought my first Merkur Model 38 Hd Classic Barber Pole Long Safety Razor a year ago March 9, 2011, and the Feather Hi-Stainless Double edged razor blades. There is no looking back for me now as I am absolutely hooked on this combo for the best shave ever. I bought a second Merkur Razor....just in case. To date I have used 22 blades for a year of shaving. The blades are extremely sharp and a light touch when shaving is mandatory. Some suggestions: I wash my face first with warm water and either Dr. Bronners Peppermint Pure Castile Peppermint Soap or Pears Soap. I have been using a shaving brush, mug and shaving soap for years. I have tried just about every brand out there and the Van Der Hagen Aloe Vera & Shea Butter is as good as any for 5 or 6 times the price. I get it at Wal-Mart for a $1.59. I rinse well after Im finished shaving with cold water, followed by good old fashion Witch Hazel. Rinse your razor in hot, hot water; shake it dry and then dip it in 90% rubbing alcohol to displace the water and to disinfect and sterilize the blade. It is my opinion that the fancy and expensive three and four blade plastic body razor blades hold bacteria because they cant be rinsed properly and this contributes to razor burn and skin irritations. I give both the razor and the blades a solid five.

I shave with a Merkur razor. Feather is my current gold standard for double-edged blades. They are extremely sharp and give me a close shave, with zero nicks if Im paying attention. :-) Moreover, I find that I can get a weeks worth of shaving on a single blade. Using them at that rate, the 200-count box works out to nearly four years worth of good shaves. Highly recommended.

I had some of these come in a 100 pack of sample razors. I kept these for last as I heard they are super sharp. These are amazingly sharp and smooth. on par or better than Lord Platinum Class on my face. These were so sharp that I never felt the couple nicks with my first attempt at using one of these blades. But those cuts were so sharp that by the time i splashed a little cold water on my face they were done bleeding and didnt need anything. One thing I do not like about these, is that both sides of the blade are identical. Most other blades have some sort of indication which side is which (either a letter, or different placement of the logo)...That is how I keep track of how many shaves ive used a blade. I may just see if a sharpie will stay on long enough or maybe just scratch a line into one side.
