I bought this item to help blend my XT2 camera into the building. The sleeve installs easily and has a lip that may help keep rainwater from the lens. It may improve waterproofing somewhat, but as it slips on the camera from the front, I dont think it would be significant. As my camera is in direct sun, it should help reduce the internal temperature. Overall, it does what I want it to do.

The lenses still get wet in heavy rain. But I guess they give an added weatherproof protection. I even have an indoor camera outside under the eve of my roof. It’s been out there in the heat and cold snow for three seasons now and still works. Now it’s protected even better with these. I also painted the white camera black with a sharpie before putting this cover on to make it more stealthy.
