> 24 hourWife bought this for me for anniversary gift. And love it. I had a decent basic Sony turntable, used for 15 years. I really like the quality of the flouance. I almost got a 83 with reg platter and red cartridge. Would have worked ok, but I need a substantial upgrade. I’d definitely recommend that model to anyone getting first turntable if they have a receiver and speakers. I also got the flouance amp, since not built in. Sound is awesome, I hear all sorts extra stuff. I truly now know, when people say it’s best on vinyl that I know what they mean. Only complaint is I originally ordered the 85 in the dark brown wood and it came with a very obvious chip on the front corner, and could tell box had been opened after opening the purchase of the light wood model.

> 24 hourI bought this turntable as an investment for the rest of my life. I’d say it more than fulfills that role very well. The quality of all the parts is amazing. This is my new child and I am so happy to have adopted it. Also, you never have to worry with Fluance customer service. They have helped me TREMENDOUSLY whenever something has gone wrong. Timely replies and excellent service. That alone is worth so much. Fluance all the way!

> 24 hourPurchased this fluence RT85 from Amazon, it was a used unit I assumed returned and refurbished, or demo or something it did not specify, but the auto stop function was intermentioned at best maybe 2 out of 10 times it would stop, the cartridge was very dusty and dirty, it had differently been used, I cleaned it up it seemed OK and sounded fine, the dust cover had a couple light scuffs on it but I was expecting something like that buying a used unit, functionality wise though the auto stop feature not working reliably was unacceptable for $500. I gusee it was not checked out correctly, Fluence makes a great product and a good value, just buy a new one not a used one.

> 24 hourMy last turntable was a Rega P3, I spent around 1200.00 that included the Ortofon Blue. This is like less than half and sounds just as good. One of the biggest selling points was the bayonet style cartridge. My Rega didnt have that and that was the problem the wires got messed up. Again sound is great, quality is good. I purchased another Belt just in case for 20 bucks and got a weight stabilizer.

> 24 hourThis turntable sounds so good! Detail is crystal clear, especially highs. But the mids and lows sound great too. As an example for the highs, I was listening to a track on the Tool Lateralus album that has a high hat hit early in the track, and it sounded really similar to what you hear playing a high hat in real life. I’ve listened to that same record before on other turntables and never heard that before! On a Billie Eilish record I could hear a lot more detail in her vocal layering - vocal parts I’d never heard before, which was cool. All the components are study. I was surprised by the weight, and I think that must contribute to an impressively low level of noise. Set up was pretty straightforward and fun for me, and I didn’t have problems with installing the dust covers like some of the other reviewers did. I’m really happy with this, feels like Christmas in May!

> 24 hourI have been shopping for a replacement for my ancient, but still quite solid-performing Thorens TD-145 MKII. I am a mid-fi audiophile and my ears are not as sharp as they were when I was younger, so I wasnt looking for an expensive turntable. Just a nice turntable that is easy to set up with decent sound. The RT-85 met those criteria on paper, but I really wasnt prepared for the clearly noticeable difference in sound. I have read many reviews on a variety of turntables and some folks blather on and on about this and that until it sounds like the same overblown and nonsensical wording you hear at wine tastings. I usually tune out such nonsense and focus on the specs. This time.. I get it. The set-up was simple and easy - note that Fluance provides a pair of white gloves so you dont smudge the finish while setting up the turntable! Once set-up, I put on Art Pepper meets The Rhythm Section. I couldnt believe I was listening to the same album. Granted, my old Thorens has a Shure M95 which is a mid-range cartridge and it is an old turntable - but I was stunned. I just sat down in the middle of the living room and listened. The sax was so clear I could reach out and touch it. There were things that I hadnt even heard before! The RT-85 was a big upgrade for me and well worth the money. It isnt for beginners, but if I were to advise a beginner who has the budget - get this turntable as it will stand you well for many many years. I expect it will stand me well for many years too,

> 24 hourUpgraded from an Audio-Technica AT-LP120 Ive had for many years. Going from the AT95E stylus to the Ortofon 2M Blus stylus is very nice! The RT85 is just great value for the money. Running this turntable on a Denon AVR-X3800H pre-out to an Emotiva BasX A3 for the front stage. Recommended!

> 24 hourFor the money and its looks this turntable knocks it out of the ballpark! I looked and studied this table for a year before I pulled the trigger and purchased it. My previous table is a Technics SL-1200 MK2 and it is in excellent condition. I mounted a Audiotechnica AT-120E on it, and after learning how to align the cartridge, adjust tracking weight and anti-skate along with the VTA and arm height I thought was sounding great! I thought of ordering the 2M Blue and putting it on the technics table for an upgrade. Once I received the Fluance table and set it up I was blown away by its sound! I was hearing things I hadnt heard before on my 1st table. The sound and seperation was truly amazing. It caused me to go on a vinyl spending spree that Im still on! My lps I purchased in the 70s and 80s sound amazing along with the newer 180 gram albums Im collecting. Just wish I purchased the table sooner!
