Front Face Plate Faceplate Shell Case Cover Replacement for Sony PSP 1000 1001 Fat (Black)

The good, its nice and clean pretty easy to swap buttons into new cover. The bad. The size is very tight, there’s no slot to secure the button of the cover with screw on the bottom of the psp, which causing some lifting/open space. Effects some buttons (start/select). Overall makes your poor/good psp look brand new. Easily reassembled, little work to make it nearly perfect.

Avoid this shell, the HOLD led hole is empty and will therefore allow dust and debris to go into the portable handheld. The original shell case has clear plastic tabs on the holes to allow the LED to shine through, this shell is missing that important piece. Even the OE plastic piece wont work as a modification to this shell. Also needed to trim some excess plastic parts to allow the Dpad piece to fit correctly without rubbing against the the mounting hole inside. Will need to purchase another shell to replace this junk.

I purchased this product and replaced my psps face plate without issue( a couple of stubborn screws aside). No modifications to the face plate are required for install. The analog nub is easily removable without any tools. There is a hole for the bottom screw, if yours doesnt have it its likely broken. The face plate comes with all the sony psp logos that the original has, its not as high quality as the original and it is a fingerprint magnet but its better than having a busted up screen surface. At the price I paid for it ($10) I feel I got my moneys worth.

Waited to write this review to make sure the product didnt fail. This replacement faceplate worked amazing well for my PSP 1000 model. It was easy to install and made my console look brand new. It is noticable different from the original faceplate as the original is a smooth one-piece faceplate while this replacement had a screen that can be removed. While it is not a 100% OEM replacement part, it did what I needed it to do at a price that I was happy with. You cant go wrong with this if you need to replace that old nasty scratched up screen!

Fits great on my psp it was a perfect fit.

Fitment is bad due to poor cleaning of extra plastic,also the bottom middle screw point was broken or incompletely molded so the faceplate doesnt actually get held down correctly. Big gap between the faceplate and the actual device, and also the holes for the buttons are oversized,careful getting lint in there and ruining your screen or short circuiting the mother board.

Got it since the OEM one I ordered never showed up, read the reviews and only thing that worried me was people complaining bout the left thumbstick not fitting... i dont think people realize that the thumbstick pops off. Once i did that everything screwed and set into place perfectly, would definitely recommend to anyone needing a front shell replacement

The PSP screws do not fit in this cover. The holes in this faceplate are too small and won’t fit in it without a lot of doing. There was no bottom hole for the bottom screw to secure the faceplate. Ended up returning because without a bottom hole, the faceplate won’t stay flush on the console.
