The ONE JOB it had, sync routes from Strava. After fighting with it to sync with my computer; fighting with it and Garmin Express to update the firmware; it STILL doesnt do the job. This is my third Garmin computer. Garmin Express has always sucked, still does. Garmin Connect has always sucked, still does. Thats why its connected to Strava becasue no one wants to use Garmins crappy apps. But the devices WERE great until just now. I am returning this piece of trash and switching to Wahoo.

Screen size, battery life and additional functionality make this a great upgrade from my Garmin 520

I hate getting lost and love data to understand how Im progressing. Getting lost distracts me from realizing optimal performance; this device keeps me on track and allows me to monitor the grade ahead and prepare for in addition to my tracking my speed and cadence. Its invaluable.

This has become a staple in my cycling. I am amazed with how well this device functions and integrates with my etap shifting, varia radar, iPhone, speed and cadence sensors, etc.

The touch screen is huge and excellent. Very easy to customize to view multiple desired metrics during a ride. I upgraded from a Garmin Edge 510 so this is a big leap up in capabilities. Was going to get an Edge 520 but the 1030 was selling for a $200 discount. Have read that the 520 is just as good. Would have given the 1030 5 stars all around, but within two months the battery started behaving oddly - went from 70+% to zero overnight. Couldn’t get it to start so had to do a full reboot at which point it suddenly showed 20% power. We will see if it is happy or if it continues.

The product is amazing, however, its suport to tie in the bike it is really weak and has all possibility of that you loose your device.

What can I say. It’s a Garmin. It’s going to work. I would have bought one model down, but there was a $200 discount at the time of purchase direct from Garmin and also via Amazon, which made this the same exact price as the lessor model - so no brainer there.
