Garmin Edge 830, Performance GPS Cycling/Bike Computer with Mapping, Dynamic Performance Monitoring and Popularity Routing

This thing is so glitchy it’s unbelievable. I’ve spent months trying to set it up. YouTube videos. Bike shop. Customer service. It is terribly designed. Do not recommend. I still cannot get it to work. Extremely frustrating.

To start, I received a used Garmin but still wants to try if its worth the price. First, screen is too small could barely see anything when ridin. 2nd, Poor Battery life. 3rd, Sluggish Navigation and lastly, return/refund process is slow like the GPS.

I moved to this as soon as it was released since I was growing weary of the touchscreen and speed of the 820. It is a big step up and the slight size increase is welcome. I also like the more positive opening/closing of the USB door for charging.

Replaced a Wahoo Elemnt with this. Love it. More features, better connectivity, and seems to be far more accurate with power, calories burned, and speed. Also navigation is and the ability to reroute mid-ride is a huge bonus! Costs more than the Elemnt, but you get far more bang for your buck! Oh and color, touch screen...sweet!

I have had the 830 for a year and have used it on several multi-day bicycle trips on dirt roads and trails. The navigation with the Garmin has been extremely frustrating, almost ruining my fun zen experience of riding through great places.

Great features, typical Garmin accuracy, but takes a long time to learn how to use if youre not a computer genius.

I upgraded from an older model. I’m happy with the touch screen feature and it works well. I think the menus are a little confusing and probably more complicated than they need to be. I’ve also had some issue with this device losing signal. My older device did not riding the same course. Overall I’m very satisfied and would recommend.
