Genuine Winix 115115 Replacement Filter A for C535, 5300-2, P300, 5300, White/Black

I bought a number of the Winix air cleaners when they were on sale. The whole machine was less than a single Plasmawave replacement filter. Then there were the fires in Paradise and elsewhere and the air quality became so bad my smoke alarms were going off. For a fire 200 miles away. Fortunately I had the Winix air cleaners installed and they did a great job. I have a laser particulate measuring system for air quality (for arguments with my wife- totally worth it!) that showed indoors the air quality was several hundred fold better than outdoors for the two particle sizes. counted. The carbon coated filters need replacing every few months as they prefilter the dog hair and general linty things floating about. The HEPA filters filter out the micron range bits. After a year you can visibly see the filter color darken as it loads up on schmutz too small to see (lasers can count them without a problem). A lot of that is pollen and other stuff you dont want to think about. So once a year they get recycled. I went for the original Winix because sometimes other brands dont fit right (the seal has to be air tight around the filter or you defeat the purpose of the filter). And I know for certain the Winix filters work because I tested them, so its worth a few extra bucks once a year to use filters I can count on. The whole family gets allergy shots so this helps keep the air inside as healthy as possible. A couple of times a year the pollen is so thick you need to wash it off your car so if thats a problem, this is a solution.

These replacements filters fit great in my Winix and are doing a super job of filtering my air. The only negative is the packaging is very lightweight cardboard and if delivered on a rainy day, the box is ruined. However, the filters are packaged inside in plastic wrap so they are good. If you are planning on using your filters right away this would not be an issue but if you are planning on keeping one in hand for when you need it, it is harder to store making sure it is not damaged without a protective cardboard box as the filters are flexible.

The light finally went off on my Winix 5300 meaning that a year has passed since I have changed my HEPA filter. This filter was identical to the one that came out, except much cleaner. This arrived quickly and was exactly what I needed. Note that per the manual for the 5300 you can wash the main HEPA filter every 6 months for up to three years. Personally I think its worth it to change the filter once a year and not worry about washing it unless you are operating it within a dusty area. If you have the 5300 like me dont forget to press and hold the filter reset button for 3-5 seconds after you change the filter. A short beep will be heard and the light should turn off. The filter set comes with 4 carbon odor filters for changing every three months which will keep things in my room smelling nice and clean. Happiness!

I have been using this filter for a few years now. The latest replacement filter arrived today and is SCENTED! As soon as I opened the plastic bag (still sealed) , I was hit with a powdery floral fragrance. I have never had a Winix filter that was scented and I run 3 Winix purifiers in my house. The smell sort of defeats the purpose of using the purifier because thats partly the reason I run them - to reduce smells! The package and filter looked identical to the others Ive received in the past. I will be returning this filter. I have also reached out directly to Winix to inquire if this was a change theyve made to their filter.

I ordered the Winix 115115 Replacement Filter A for my Winix 5500. Received the item. Came in sealed Winix box in new condition, no issues there. When I replaced the old filter I noticed a few things, the new one has a white frame while the old had a blue, the pull tabs are on the top and bottom while the old ones were on the sides, and it fits in the unit much tighter, and it has a slight smell to it “new filter smell I guess”. When I turned the unit on I noticed the airflow is greatly reduced and it never kicks into “bad air” mode now. This made me do a little more research and I found that what my unit had in it originally is the Winix 115122 G filter set. This filter costs twice as much as the Winix 115115 A filter I had just bought. The A filter may be doing a fine job but I will be replacing it with the more expensive G filter. I think it probably does a better job than the A and I worry about burning out the unit from the reduced airflow from the A. I am giving 3 stars. There is really nothing wrong with the filter and the packaging was perfect. It’s just not the right filter for my unit. Different issue, when I look at this order and another one received at the same time it states that this was delivered and handed directly to a resident. Yet I was home and got the email that my item was delivered so looked out the door and found them sitting on the step. The delivery person had not rang the doorbell nor had I heard a knock, and it certainly wasn’t handed to anyone in the house.

Like many others, I thought it didnt fit the 9500 at first. It does fit. The cartridge in the unit is a different filter pack. That can be ordered on Amazon too but it isnt required. It has washable carbon filters but last 1 year like this filter package does. Steps: 1. Take the cartridge out and set it aside. You can throw this whole thing away. 2. Put the white HEPA filter in with the arrow facing IN for airflow. 3. Put one of the 4 black carbon filters on top of the HEPA filter. 4. Replace the case. 5. Your done. In 3 months l, replace the black carbon filter. In a year buy this product again and start over. I wish this thing came with instructions.

Very satisfying to replace the old gross filter with the new one. Easy to install in my 5300-2.

The Winix itself is easy to keep clean & very easy to exchange old filters for new ones! If you do it on schedule, the air is cleaner and you breathe better. I have been very happy with how easy it is to clean the screen and exchange the air filters! Very happy with both products!

We have the Winix air cleaner, and this are the cheapest I can find anywhere........still kind of expensive for a paper filter and some carbon coated foam filters.........these fit and filter much better than the off brands we have tried. 2-22-2014: Just purchased a Fellowes HF-300 True HEPA Filter just to see if it would fit. PERFECT, in fact it is exactly the same as the Winix filter in size, materials, and construction (both have gotta be made by the same manufacturer). Price was half of that of the Winix filter, but the Winix filter comes with 4 carbon prefitlers (which cant be purcahsed seperately). The 4 Fellowes carbon prefilters can be purchased seperately for under $12.............still almost $20 cheaper total than the Winix.
