Gillette Venus ComfortGlide Womens Razor Blade Refills, 4 Count, White Tea Scented Gel Bar Protects Against Skin Irritation

I recently discovered Gillettes Venus line of razors (I know, theyve only been on the market for a few years now, but I was holding on to an old favorite). Since I loved the Venus Divine blades so much, I thought, what could be better than a razor with built-in shave gel so I dont have to lather up my skin?. Apparently, something other than these Venus Spa refills with the shave gel built in. I dont know; maybe I just got a bad batch of razor cartridges, but the one that I opened up doesnt really release any shave gel until Ive moved well beyond a leg or forearm or two. When it DOES release that gel, its more as a concentrated, thin string of shave gel that never really lathers up properly, and this is with frequent moistening under the shower or tub tap, and after applying generous pressure just to bring the blades in contact with my skin enough to cut any hair. Obscurely enough, these put me in mind of using Mick Jaggers mouth to shave - the gel-infused cushions are rubbery and spongy feeling, and as other reviews have stated, keep the razors blades away from your skin, as if you have to push past the lips to get the teeth to scrape the hair away, never very effectively, or if it is effective, its not without great risk of cuts from those self-same blades. Just not well executed. Id read all of the reviews for the single packs of Venus Spa cartridges, so I knew that thered be a 50/50 shot that Id actually like these, but putting them into use for myself solidified it for me. You shouldnt have to go through any sort of tutorial or training to effectively use a razor cartridge, and thats what I feel like I need to get these to work right. As others have said, this is the first Venus cartridge that Ive used that has left me with cuts, and worse than that, nowhere near to a close-enough shave, all at a higher price than their other cartridges. At this rate, Id much rather take the extra five minutes needed to lather my skin up myself, and return to the Venus Divine cartridges that I like so much. THOSE at least give me a close enough shave that I can skip a day between shaving sessions and not notice the difference. THESE razor cartridges? Not so much - I feel like I have a 5 oclock shadow every day, and I didnt buy into this line of razors to have to contend with stubble! If you like one of Gillettes other types of Venus cartridges, stick with those. As has been proven to me before, the grass ISNT always greener on the other side! And the stubble may actually be longer!

I have dark and coarse hair, with light and sensitive skin...so for me, shaving is always a challenge. I tried a lot of Venus products, and this razor works the best for me. I still use shaving cream because it seems to help keep my skin clear. My only complaint is that the moisturizer pads wider than in most razors, making it is somewhat difficult to use in certain areas. SIDE POINT, but good to know. This comment is unrelated to the quality of the item, but its something thats happened to me several times. Ive been using these razors for a while now. They are not cheap, so I ended up trying different sites and sellers. (Be careful with the deal that you are getting. These razors can go bad.) In my case, specifically, moisturizing pads were damaged. (It looked like they were either stored improperly, or just expired... either way, I could not use them.) Couple of times, only four or five razors were damaged, but by the time I got damaged razors , the item would be unreturnable. *So research your sellers.*

I have very sensitive skin and I’ve used the same razors for a long time. Thought I would change it up and I love these!

This razor is unlike any I have used before. I stopped shaving for a few years, unhappy with any and all razors I used. Now shaving again, this is by far the best razor I have found. all you need to do is make sure the area is wet and it provides a smooth lather and lotion for before and after. highly recommend this product!

I like the fact that it gives you a close shave, I have to shave daily and have thick hair. Are usually buy them at Costco and can’t find the refills. This is the best bang for your buck. Highly recommended.

LOVE THIS RAZOR AND I CONTINUE PURCHASING RAZOR BLADE REFILLS BECAUSE IT IS ABLE TO COMFORTABLY SHAVE MY EXTREMELY THICK & CURLY HAIR. NEVER GET RAZOR BURN ON MY LEGS OR UNDERARMS AND ONLY MINOR IRRITATION IN SENSITIVE AREAS SUCH AS BIKINI REGION. THERE ARE TWO CONS I’VE EXPERIENCED WITH THIS PRODUCT. FIRST, THE RAZOR HANDLE SLIGHTLY CRACKED IT’S PLASTIC FRAME UNDERNEATH THE GEL COATING CAUSING IT TO BE SLIGHTLY FLIMSILY. THIS CRACK WAS USER ERROR SINCE IT HAPPENED AFTER I DROPPED THE RAZOR IN THE TUB AND THEN PROCEEDED TO UNKNOWINGLY STEPPING ON IT. MUCH SMALLER CRACK THEN I HAD EXPECTED AFTER TAKING THAT DROPPED. MY SECOND CON SURROUNDING THIS PRODUCT IS THE LONGEVITY OF THE CARTRIDGE. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE SOAP AROUND THE RAZOR BLADE WEARS OUT WAY TO QUICKLY LEAVING A PERFECTLY USABLE BLADE TO WASTE. IT’S HARD TO USE THE BLADES EVEN AFTER THE PINK SOAP HAS WORN AWAY SINCE ALL THAT’S LEFT UNDERNEATH IS HARD PLASTIC WHICH ENDS UP RUBBING (CAUSING ME IRRITATION).

This is the best one. It doesnt leave a razor rash and glides great. I tried others and keep coming back to this one. I like my sexy legs looking good.

Even though these are some super expensive razors, I continue to buy them for several different reasons. 1 - I have very sensitive skin but these dont cause me any problems. 2 - Its so much easier to shave without shaving cream 3 - I always get a smooth shave with it 4 - They last a surprisingly long time! I shave pretty often since I live in Florida and wear shorts all year round plus we go swimming multiple times a week. I get at least 3-4 weeks per cartridge with these. They may be pricey but they are worth every penny. I dont usually get much time to myself to shower until my toddler comes running in demanding a shower too. I have to be able to shave quickly so hes not in there trying to play with a razor. This is so much faster than using shaving cream. Id highly recommend these razors to anyone!
