> 24 hourExcellent co-op game for serious gamers. Not beginner friendly.

> 24 hourFantastic coop game with more replay value than many board games. Simultaneous gameplay makes it hard to let one person control the direction of the game. The presentation is well thought out and i highly recommend it. It can seem like alot at first but once you figure it out it’s very enjoyable.

> 24 hourGreat, fairly heavyweight co-op game with terrific theming. Its a 3 hour or so playtime if everyone knows what theyre doing, so not a short play at all, but I love this game.

> 24 hourIn my opinion this expansion is a must once you figure out the overall strategy for the core spirit island. After playing a while with the core it is a lot easier to win because you know what is going to happen next. This expansion brings much more excitement to the game with added randomness. The thing about these random event cards is that they arent enough to completely lose a game, but enough to have to change your strategy sometimes. I believe I read somewhere that this expansion was supposed to be part of the core, but greater than games just split up part of the game. This is a must buy for anyone who loves spirit island.

> 24 hourThe main difference from the base game, and which can make or break this expansion for you, are the event cards.

> 24 hourSpirit island is extremely well done. Its more complicated than most board games, especially co-op ones, but is well worth it. The mechanisms work very well and some are rather unique. While it may seem too hard at first, stay with it and youll see that though things may sometimes seem hopeless, gaining a little more power can change the tides completely. Between different boards, spirits (roles), adversaries, and more, this game has lots of variation to make replayability extremely strong. The expansion makes the game even more fun and greatly increases the replayability and variety of each game.

> 24 hourI will admit, my first game with this expansion had me uneasy because I wasnt ready for the sheer difficulty random events could potentially add. However, later games showed me that it adds a lot of fun to Spirit Island. The base game I play reaaallllyyyy slowly and think everything through, the randomness this expansion adds actually made my games faster because I couldnt control everything, I had to accept somethings were beyond my control. So more fun and faster games make me love this expansion.

> 24 hourYes, it adds a lot of pieces and powers and mechanics. But the two new spirits arent very fun. The tree fellow is so involved in preventing exploration that he seems to not interact with the game at all, just concentrating on empty spaces in the hopes that one day hell annoy someone who tries to move in there. The animal spirit more encourages beasts to migrate than actively attacks, making them seem to be lacking in visceral savagery.
