A dark, but truthful, story of a juvenile detention officer that turns to football to teach the youthful offenders that they can have pride in themselves without turning to gangs and drugs. A powerful story that Dwayne Johnson handles well. It is more than just a football movie.

This is a surprisingly good movie. Its a true story about a youth detention counselor (starring Dwayne The Rock Johnson) who needs to come up with a strategy to straighten out some unruly male juvenile delinquents so that they do not return to a life of crime on the mean streets of their respective neighborhoods. The counselor decides that the youths could build character and learn some very valuable life-lessons through the teamwork of organized football. Its not an immediate transformation but they eventually come around to trusting each other and become a real team.

Thought it was a good movie....

I really enjoyed seeing the rock in a different role. He is hard on these guys but underneath the hard shell is a gentle giant. His character really cares about each of these young men and it really showed that even though he was playing a part he really meant it.

Im not a huge fan of football movies, but this one goes beyond that. It has its cliched moments, but overall, it has a wonderful message. And the fact that its based on real events is even better. A movie I think everyone should see.
