I got these for my pet ducks enclosure. She has pine shavings with these on top to keep everything fresh, but she also enjoys teasing out the hay to munch on when shes feeling a bit peckish. Shes a small duck, Black East Indies ducks only weigh about 2 pounds/less than 1 kilo fully grown. She sleeps and eats in a 40 gallon aquarium, and we use three mats to line the bottom.
