Ive used cheaper switches for my mouse and keyboard to use with two PCs and I was never satisfied. They would lose connection or switching would not be friendly. I upgraded to two monitors and used this box as a switch for two monitors, my corded keyboard, my corded mouse, and my Bluetooth speaker. It was easy to set up. It takes a few seconds to go from PC to PC, but it works beautifully. Ive used it a month already and I find it was worth every penny. The switch is powered via USB so you used the cables included for each PC. It came with 4 HDMI cables and I bought more HDMI to be prepared. My mistake was assuming my PCs had multiple HDMI ports and it was not the case. I had multiplay Display Ports and needed those cables to mix and match with the HDMI. Keep that in mind. I used a Dell laptop dock and it switches fine, though in the description it recommends you not do this. I saw only a few reviews when considering purchase. I thought an additional review would help others decide if this option will work for them.
