Hole Saw Dust Bowl - Dust Bowl for Hole Saw, for Installing Recessed Lights and Works with All Hole Saws

I bought two of these - the second thinking I must of used the first one incorrectly. But they both ended up the same. When drilling, the grommet (both plastic and metal - depending on the particular size product) transfers too much heat to the rubberized bowl most proximal to your drill bit - overheats and essentially melts. I tried you-tube to see if I was doing something wrong, no real informative information there. The product itself comes with no instruction whatsoever. Unless Im missing something obvious - I wouldnt buy the product again. Twice is enough.

Although I liked the idea of the steel washers, it didn’t hold up as well as another dust bowl I had that lasted a long time. The bowl itself is a little small and 6” hole saws rub on the bowl.

Product itself gets 5 stars as it worked well to keep the sheet rock and drywall dust from going everywhere. A bit pricey for what it is made of but it is great not having a big mess. 3 stars for the vendor. The item arrived timely but it looks like it was used. It had a strange dent which fortunately didnt affect operation. Not sure who I find more disappointing, people that use tools and then return it once done, or vendors that sell used products as new. Tool is great but be aware that you may get a used product.

I installed LED lights into plaster ceilings and this bowl caught everything and made the install very neat and easy!

Item worked great to install my recessed lights, no more drywall dust flying everywhere. Used it to install 8 recessed lights but by the 4th or 5th one it started buckling with very little pressure. Would recommend for quick project not for prolonged use on big projects.

Pretty good product. It is worth it to have this when installing ceiling lights. The plastic is flexible. It did me a while to figure it out how to use it with a bigger hole drill.

I especially like that it is rubbery and flexible. That very often comes in handy.

I purchased this first and foremost because I was drilling holes in my ceiling to install new pod lights. I purchased this particular model because I thought the metal ring would prove more durable and long-lasting than any of the plastic ringed alternatives. I couldnt have been more wrong. After putting it on my drill for the very first time and drilling into my ceiling, the metal ring actually became unscrewed from itself and then leaked all the dust in the bowl all over me and my bedroom. This is exactly what I didnt want to happen. I cant believe that they put the ring on so shoddy. The ring would also not screw back on evenly as part of the plastic flange of the bull had become warped. So this made my dust Bowl literally unusable. I ended up returning the product and I purchased the plastic ringed alternative (which worked great). I highly suggest everyone stay away from this particular model and just buy the plastic ring from the get-go. Yes its a little more expensive, but its worth it.

I needed one of these for a job I was doing. I researched and chose this one because it had a metal washer as opposed to the plastic one that many others had and the cone was clear so you could see your bit placement . While reading the reviews I had seen several which stated they had received a used product, I ordered anyway and after a few days received a used product? What the heck? The plastic is cloudy, with scratches and smudges on it making it hard to see through and precisely place the bit in the correct location. Buyer beware the reviews claiming they received a used product are true, as can be seen in my photos.
